Today is the last day of the group stage of "championship week" in the European Cricket League, with the finals tomorrow. T10 slap and tickle but good fun. Can watch it all via ecn.cricket or their YouTube channel.

Irish champs CIYMS are top with 100% record, with reigning "European champs" Badalona chasing them. The champions from England, Jersey and France have won 2 lost 2 so far this week, while the champions from Spain and Belgium have been this week's whipping boys.

Worth a watch if you love your cricket and nowt better to do...

All done, the Frenchies came through to win - some awesome power in their top order, pretty decent bowling too! They got 189-0 in one game, in a T10!!

Worth sharing this sensational catch too from earlier in the day:

Anyone know of a way of listening to overseas cricket radio commentaries like SA v Windies Twenty20 later today? Don't think there's any UK coverage but must be on radio somewhere?

One thing you don't want, when you are being clobbered all over the place, is to let one through your fingers for four.

I really dislike Michael Vaughan, anyone else of that opinion?

I've never met the man but agree he comes across like a complete arsehole on occasions.

A very good captain though.
Always found him very arrogant to be honest. This whole racism affair has not done him any favours, although nothing proven.

Cold start to the CC season today, with numerous interruptions (other than at Old Trafford........)

Bizarrely not a ball bowled at Taunton, despite it being a mainly gloriously sunny day down here in Somerset.......Looks like the rain over the last few days/weeks left the outfield unplayable.........
Would appear that the Members are revolting......

This time of year you never wanted to be under a skyer in the field. Even on the practice nights it was always very cold. Usually bright, but an East wind that’s cuts you in two. ?
Much better in later years when I had the keeping gloves even with the fielders firing the ball in. ?

I was playing one year when our opening bowler suddenly couldn't land the ball on the cut strip. When we went over to see what was going on, his wrist had turned blue and he had no feeling in his hand!

That’s sounds really uncomfortable. Hard to get the feeling back.

In one of my last years playing, we played a 3xi match at Bangor, a seaside town near Belfast. This was one of only 2 matches played that early May in Ulster. Baltic it was! Thankfully we batted first. My youngest son and I scored a few runs and got sort off warmed up. A big West Indian guy, who was a decent player in his time, dropped an absolute dolly. He just couldn’t feel the his hands. No one laughed as they all dreaded a catch coming their way. In their innings, I dropped a similar one. Couldn’t feel my hands, which never helps catching. My son was keeping that day,
( away better keeper than me) and took 3 skied catches running back, as no one else was shouting mine! We managed to win by about 5 runs. The big west Indian lad and myself had a laugh about it afterwards and agreed we were too old for games on days like that.
Hopefully some warmer weather for all of us soon!
Speaking of cricket, is Kew cricket club open for pre match drinks at this stage of the cricket season and does anyone wish to meet up for a pint anytime after 1.30pm on Saturday ?

Cricket days don't get much better than the one Tom Price of Gloucestershire had yesterday. Scored a century batting at 9 then took a hat trick opening the bowling.
