310 off 50, very good score.

Good competitive score from Afghanistan, but some poor fielding from India.

310-4.

India broke the highest run chase with 8 overs to spare 🤯

Going to take something special to beat them as their batting line up is ridiculous - I dont think our bowling would be as bad as Afghanistan though.

U19 final. India win the toss and choose to bat.

Critchley came on at the Rose Bowl as it was getting dark
4.3 overs 5 for 9

Wow !!
Essex win by an innings

And then this this morning

Still no official line on Lewis Goldsworthy's injury, nor is it obvious visibly what his problem is.

I guess Archie Vaughan is as like for like as a right-handed batter who bowls spin for Goldsworthy as it comes, and he will have to swallow his pride were he to be asked to be the second injury replacement of the match despite being at Chelmsford all match.

A runner, 13 names on the Somerset playing XI sheet and potentially 12 batters in an innings is now allowed, gosh this could be carnage, and especially for the scorer!

Points deduction for Sussex didnt last long then !!

2 out of 2

Just turned on an IPL match, team batting first scored 265, oppo are 116 off 6 overs.
Being played between junctions 13 + 14 on the M25 apparently.
How could anybody find this crap entertaining?

I was watching the sleepy Surrey game yesterday and they broke away for the IPL. Horrendous, binned it straight away.

Dont think there will be a score of 250 in the IPL today
Look at this start

0-1 (Sahil Parakh, 0.2 ov)
2-2 (KL Rahul, 1.1 ov)
2-3 (Sameer Rizvi, 1.2 ov)
7-4 (Tristan Stubbs, 2.1 ov)
7-5 (Axar Patel, 2.4 ov)

The farce at Beckenham yesterday

I met friends at Kent v Durham yesterday to hear that amazingly water had got under the covers overnight. Play was abandoned at 4.00. No money back of course. County cricket must get its act together. This is my email to Kent CCC, for what it's worth.

Hello
I was one of the spectators who remained until the bitter end of Day 3 of Kent v Durham at Beckenham, hoping in part to see our England skipper in the flesh for the first time. After driving past the small (no signage?) entrance to the car park, we manoeuvred and got in. We arrived at a couple of minutes past 11.00 to see no action on the square.
Other spectators explained the situation, that water had seeped under the covers. The scoreboards did not show the overnight scores.
Loudspeaker announcements were brief. There were hourly pitch inspections until 4.00 when we were advised that there would be no play.
To add insult to injury, I didn't hear a thank you to spectators for their patience and we were only offered ticket swaps for two days that I could not attend.
County red ball cricket is in dire straits. The poor communication, and poor facilities (such a shame because so many of us like going to outgrounds), with of course the presumably inadequate covers on the square seem to confirm why attendances for our vital county championship are low. And this was the Beckenham Festival? No atmosphere whatsoever!
This was so disappointing. I had to wait to email today so that yesterday's anger didn't cause my words to slip into the unacceptable.

Thank you very much for your feedback about your experience we appreciate it. Like you we were disappointed that the covers failed and we were unable to get any play in. Regarding you matchday experience Beckenham deal with this as hosts we support them where they we can but ultimately any failings is on them. In relation to your comment about lack of atomsphere it was clear from the bar takings that supporters simply were not drinking enough despite having hours of time to fill. Therefore whilst are sympathetic to your concern it is one out of our control as it supporters that take responsibility to entertain themselves rather than Kent CC one. On a positive note it was great to see so many people using soap in the toliets and washing their hands. This was part of Kent CC award winning “safe hands” initiative in partnership with our local council. To celebrate the success of this project pleased find enclosed a tube of santister which will go someway to brightening your day

History made yesterday by Roston Chase and Amir Jangoo for the West Indies. They put on 401 v Sri Lanka which is the highest ever test partnership for the 6th wicket or lower. They came together at 168-5 and the partnership was broken at 569 when Jangoo was caught for 233. Chase (batting 8) just missed out on a double century when he was bowled for 194.
