He says he approached Rodgers at the Swansea v Spurs game to ask if he would do the job "IF" he was appointed Enghland Manager - He was the fans favourite and the media favourite so makes perfect sense he would speak to those he would like on his side "IF" the appointnment was made - No time then wasted gewtting your backroom staff sorted.

I would rather Hasry than Woy anyday as I beleive the football would be somewhat better - But that is only my opinion.

Just listened to Harry for 90 minutes on TalkSport.

A good listen and loved the tale of Lee Topliss the Irish "jockey".

May not be a fan, but good radio nonetheless.

Sorry to disagree, to come out with it now makes him look a total plonker. It's the sort of thing he should keep to himself.

You were also raving about Roy that night you disgraced yourself by supporting Fulham at the Europa Cup semi final at Craven Cottage :(

Will be interested in his comments about the real reasons for his fall out with Billy Bonds after he said in his last book that he had no idea why they fell out.The man is a great listen as long as you take with a bucket of salt.

Harry was on the Today Programme this morning, on Radio 4.
The timing of the book serialisation is all to do with money, nothing to do with knocking Roy or the FA

Bill, long time ago but he was Bonds assistant when West Ham were struggling in second tier - Bonds thought Redknapp was leaving with him but allegedly did a u turn after being approached by Storey and accepted the job as manager. I know that Trevor Brooking sided with Bonzo and didn't return to West Ham as an ambassador until after 'Arry had left - if I recall it was almost immediate. My sister has worked with Sir Trevor through Sport UK and regardless of what he said recently regarding Harry and the England job, there is no love lost between the two.

But not the England job where in theory he has the cream of the crop and then it's down to tactics which in my opinion is his weakness

You could like him to MA I guess great at motivating etc but when it came to the final delivery was found wanting

I read today Harry's take on the issues surrounding this and as usuall he's managed to put a spin on it.Harry said he was going to take the Bournmouth job and was approached as you say by Storey to take over at west ham but there must have been some other stuff that lead to these mates never talking again.

I'm pretty sure Bonds didn't have a clue and thought they'd both left together as agreed and someone other than 'Arry informed him that The Ginger Elephant man had stayed on and become the new Manager.
Redknapp claimed he couldn't get hold of Bonds and regretted the miscommunication but like you say sure there's more to it.

Just saw an old episode of Big Break with a mulleted Jim Davidson, and maybe it was the lateness of the hour, but I thought he looked like Harry in his younger days.

Then again, maybe I just want to put them together cos I cant stand either of them.
