By my count, since our promotion the PL, 32 of the 39 player of the month awards have gone to a player at a big 6 club or Newcastle. And of course IT is the first current Brentford player to win the award. Very impressive stuff from the big man, hopefully the first of many.

The way we set up at the beginning of the game he was being marked by three centre halves and no Brentford player getting near him. Even if he won a header, it was 1 v 3.

As the game progressed, and certainly as the second half progressed, our formation – at least the positioning of the players – got others in and around him to the point where their CB were still focussing on him and leaving Lewis-Potter, Schade and Damsgard a lot of space. That’s how it goes, sometimes.

As a big lump we expect him to really dominate centre backs and he hasn't always done that this season. Yesterday he barely won a thing but despite his size and strength I don't think that's his game.

This season has shown that he can run in behind, finish all types of chances and press like a maniac. When we start playing the ball on the floor and creating chances for him he'll score even more goals. I really like him I just don't think his best asset is in fighting with CB's

Looked like KLP singled him out in first goal celebration. Maybe the run he made.or maybe Thiago has been giving KLP a few pointers.

Our passing to him was so good I am amazed he didn't dominate and score a hateful. Give the guy some quality service and he will do well. Never stopped running. Never stopped working. Our basic passing was poor yesterday. Fortunately for us Wolves' passing was even worse.

Apparently Wickes in South Ealing have just had an order for a brazier, coals and a Donkey Jacket to be delivered to Jersey Road on 5th January!

Thiago has been named today in a list of the current Top 30 PL footballers.

He is at number 11 with this comment -

"Thiago endured an injury-plagued first season at Brentford, making only eight Premier League appearances, but is more than making up for lost time this year. The Brazilian has produced an array of different finishes already this season, from poacher’s goals to thumping strikes. Will he be the next Brentford player to attract interest from bigger clubs?"

Mbeumo is at 26, the only Man Utd player in the list.
There’s not a single Spurs player mentioned!

Of all the bull**** transfer speak the word "monitoring" is always the biggest joke. What does it even mean? Every PL club is monitoring every opposition player anyway if they are doing their job properly. Liverpool have Isak and Ekitike who are both elite centre forwards. They desperately need central defensive rebuild. The idea they are going to blow another 50m plus on another centre forward is total fantasy.

Completely bullied their 18, no surprise they hooked him off at half time. Excellent assist for the first, should’ve had another if he’d passed to Jensen 5 minutes later. He was good today but still plenty of room for improvement. That’s exciting

I said it on the match thread but that is as good a number 9 performance as you'll see in the PL this season - first half he was just ridiculously good.

Just needs a goal to get him off and running again but I'm sure if we score 4 every game he won't be that bothered.

Sensational today, held it up well, played some lovely passes and worked his socks off. As someone mentioned above looked so much faster today than he has done for most of the season…shame he didn’t get a goal but he is going to get plenty this season.

An outstanding centre forward display today. As good as Ivan at his peak, which is the ultimate compliment I can give him. The Brazil #9 shirt is calling 🇧🇷 Well played young man 👏

I agree. The hold up play, chesting, bullying and heading was as good as I've seen from any number 9 for us.
