Fabulous news. As Neymar has managed to stay fit for this last part of the season he goes as a leader in the dressing room (whatever you might say about him he will command some respect within the group) but presumably as Brazil's only out and out number nine we will be seeing Igor on the greatest of stages this year! Ancelotti is another one of those great managers and I look forward to seeing how he will use Igor in the summer.

Just come across what Ancelotti had to say on the selection (it's strangely worded because it'll be a slightly clunky translation from the original)

"We need to have options in the squad to vary the team according to the opponent or game situation, that's why I'm bringing Neymar, who has different characteristics. João Pedro's fight was with Igor Thiago and I chose to take a prolific penalty area player in the air."

Seems staggering that Ancelotti, with all his experience, has put his faith in him rather than established players he's been working with. Must have created a real impression when he was called up. Has anyone sought Gabby Agbonlahor's opinion yet?

Apart from 22 goals in the best league in the world, works unselfishly for the team and a solid penalty taker, a big factor must be his positive, happy, humble attitude which would be a big plus in a squad that will be living together for well over a month.

Congratulations Big Man. This is incredible news for Igor and our club. A Brentford player up front for Brazil at the World Cup is just crazy. Our first £100m player? It could happen you know.
