Just from the albeit limited time I've seen of him plus the fact he's the second highest transfer fee out of the jupiler pro league ever behind charles de keteleare who bombed out in Milan and £10m more than doku who went to city . I hope it works out but imo no player out of the Belgium league is worth £32m

After all Brentford is renowned for spotting talent early on for a bargain price. Strikes me as a strange purchase we have rushed into. Brugge's have had it off IMO.

To be fair, signing him then would have been far cheaper. We would not have been able to get a work permit for him so he couldn't have actually played for us but the fee would have been a snip and he could have helped out with the kit man or something. I'm starting a campaign to get BrianBrent to replace Phil Giles.

In a Brentford team, he would never have been in that situation when taking a penalty. He would have a minder, who would’ve collected the ball and stood by the spot while all the shenanigans were going on. Meanwhile, as the penalty taker, he would’ve moved alone wide outside the penalty area to compose himself, focusing on his penalty-taking method. Only when all was settled and the referee was ready, would he walk over, collect the ball and place it.

Totally agree. At every stoppage the players were waiting to go long before he was ready. And the couple of times Bruges looked to gain an advantage by taking a quick restart, he - predictably - took the advantage away and made them restart again. Amazed his style is tolerated on the Bundesliga

Although he may not have exceptional skills, I think one thing has become apparent ..... we need players with the necessary physical toughness to play up to 38 games. What we've learnt from this season is the large number of injuries means that, however skilful a player, it's no good to us having him out injured for months. Perhaps the key thing with any new signing is that the player is resilient enough to play the majority of games..... just a thought! ?

It does not matter how long you have been a fan you can still be unreasonable in your assessment. Which of our post promotion recruits have been failures?
As for the Thiago assessment please just give the guy a break. Let him pull on the red and white , give him some games and then decide if the money we have spent(not yours by the way) was reasonable.

It is hard to understand the critical pre conceptions by some of this player, we haven't even seen him yet let alone seen him play competitive live football. A lot of money spent yes, is he going to be the complete and polished player we all desire - absolutely not, otherwise we would be paying three times this transfer fee. As with Mark Flekken he will undoubtedly take time to adjust to the Premiership - who wouldn't, but at least let us all welcome him to our club and give him the backing he certainly deserves, who knows, despite the pesermism displayed by some we make have found a real unpolished diamond...
