It’s what he looked like in the 45 minutes we saw him for us and very much his role at Brugge in the ECL games I saw him in for them. They often looked like they were playing a 541 low block and leaving him to do all the different forward roles alone while still getting the ECL star player award.

It will be nice to see a big strong player on the pitch for us, who looks like he could ho 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Someone who can hold up the ball and push off opponents off with a physical presence. All sadly lacking on Monday night.

So, Leicester City (H) on 30 November the target. It’s going to be great to get bodies back, as long as we don’t break too many in the meantime.

What absolute nonsense and once again you seek to pour cold water on any genuine anticipation or optimism. You use emotive language and hyperbole to make a point. Who exactly is setting him up to take a fall? Nobody has in the slightest suggested he is going to set the world alight let alone ‘pick the lottery numbers’ . People can be genuinely excited about a new signing, they can imagine his possible impact and they can do both of these things without expecting miracles.
I respect every body’s opinions but I object to unfair characterisation of people looking forward to something.

I was only being silly, I am looking forward to him smashing that youtube gobshite but sadly it is probably already rehearsed and the re-match already agreed. Watching him train I don't think many people outside of pro rankings would last long.

I’m really looking forward to seeing him play, I’ve only seen the same highlight reels that everyone else has seen…bit it feels like we are getting a striker the size of Toney but someone who is able to run in behind with pace. Sometimes Wissa gets overpowered, so good to have that option.

I don’t think he will play like Toney did dropping deep all the time, but surely his height will come in handy when playing out from the back and trying to lure in a press.

I think this guy will hit the ground running because of his physical presence and attitude. Lottery numbers I'm not so sure.

Will be massive when he comes back. Bottom line is that we have functionally been forced to play out from the back due to the lack of a big man up top and the injured fullbacks make that hard too. This gives us another outlet. Would have been useful against Fulham.
Could be back against Everton on the 23rd, even! How exciting

Though at Brugge he did also drop deep so he can do that if needed. I’m trying not to get over-excited as it’ll take time to get match fit and adjusted to the PL but he looks like potentially a more complete player than Toney.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the coaching team will be asking him to play… and how he then combines with the other attackers. He’s certainly going to provide a focal point that we’ve been lacking for a while.

He was a great passer of the ball too. There’s no doubt his on field presence is missed.

I'm excited and looking forward to how he plays. No cold water here. Just tempering people's expectations. We read it all with Schade when he joined. The majority of posters seem to expect him to hit the ground running and they may be right. He might do. I hope he does. But a lot of people need to cut him some slack if he doesn't. With a big price tag comes big expectations, which is right in my book. I think it's going to take a bloke who has never played in the PL, been injured for months and not linked up with others on the pitch yet, a few months to settle in. And that's fine with me too.

Let's just see how he does and take it from there, eh?

100%, as we know he’s not Prem ready and we need to manage our expectations. I have visions that if he doesn’t hit the ground running or picks up cautions as I suspect he will while he’s getting to grips with this league we’ll hear how unfair Wissa isn’t starting !!

Fingers crossed all our fears disappear when he has an Andy Woon like debut (for those who watched us over 50 years ago)

Thank you sir for tempering our expectations, if it wasn't for this kind gesture we would all be at such a state of excitement that we wouldn't be able to go about our daily business.

In preseason against the Dons (who like us were playing triallists, different combos) he looked really promising. He has all of the above. Of course the Prem a totally different beast but I really think this guy can be a gem ?. He could be “Toney with pace”.

I’m with you, we’ve been brave and gone for someone no other clubs had on their radar and love to see him become a legend

Yeah, I know it was only a pre-season against "weaker" opposition, but I thought he looked really good.
Better than I was expecting for a first match.
So I'm really looking forward to seeing him play again.
Of course it might be a bit slower this time, coming back from injury, rather than just transferring clubs, but once he's fully fit I think he should be an important addition for us.
