And England's was made in Brentford......Imagine if Brazil’s number 9 in the 2026 World Cup plays for Brentford!

You mean we’ve knocked Fulham and the Rara’s ‘right off their f***ing perch’The rise and power in West London shifted three seasons ago, today it was enforced.
We are the noisy neighbour and we ain’t going away and the music is playing loudly!
Hope he’s more successful than MarcondesIt's a lot of money but this is the pond we are fishing in now, so I think you have to be excited - his profile seems what we need and that plays to the model we have built which includes having a genuine centre forward rather than exclusively players who can play across the front line. If he does seem raw , I've got every faith that the club will have a clear plan for developing him further; I remember watching that Marcondes documentary years ago that he was so impressed with everything the club knew about him and what to target for improvement.
I also remember Phil Giles saying that we will look to buy player who they hope will become better than what they might be replacing. The fact that no-one got a sniff this was happening makes it all the better. Welcome Igor!
He was battling Onyeka in a continental tournament final just 3 days ago, so yeah, haven't forgotten that... (but he was a waste of money for Foolham and now plays in the championship and I take your point etc etc)Fulham’s record signing was Jean Michel Seri (remember him - Nope neither do I) at 27 million.
Chris Samba is the most expensive player never to be able to kick a football properly. He makes Kurt Zouma look like Messi.QPR’s record signing was Christopher Samba (remember him) at 12.5 million
Fulham’s record signing was Jean Michel Seri (remember him - Nope neither do I) at 27 million.
Brentford sign their new striker Thiago for 30 million plus.
Brentford have not just looked at the historical line in the sand of the record transfer fee for the three clubs they have trodden right through it.

Eegor I reckon, like the Sepultura drummer Igor Cavalera, also Brazilian.Where did this deal come from?
I was over the moon about the rumour of Lille's Jonathan David coming to Brentford.
Brentford looks like they hit gold again. The big question is, is it Igor or eegor? ???
Yehor is basically the Ukrainian version of the same name. The first Brentford Igor! ?
Don’t think so, but Murray Jones played like a Brazilian, a box of tricks. Is this the first Brazilian player we've ever had?!
The fee is in Euros. Up to us to hedge that, or not, in the forward or options markets.Be interested to know if we are just paying instalments at the current exchange rate when they fall due, or if we are buying some or all of total € fee at a fixed rate to manage risk.
What’s a Dutchman got to do with it?Kneejerk signing for Tottenham
No he is registered with Bruges so he stays there until the end of their season. We can't register him until July so he is their player but contractually he has signed for us hence the announcementForgive my ignorance, but if we’ve signed him now and will register him in the summer, does that mean he will be training with us now, and maybe play some B team games? If we’ve actually signed him, how can he continue to play for Brugge, unless we loan him back, and surely we can‘t do that outside of the transfer window?
So whose player is he now? Ours or theirs?
I hope we’ve agreed on his insurance for the remainder of the season! No he is registered with Bruges so he stays there until the end of their season. We can't register him until July so he is their player but contractually he has signed for us hence the announcement
He was suspendedI see he didnt play for Brugges on Sunday. Probably injured signing the paperwork.
He takes a lot of yellow cards
Interesting timing… Argentina beat Brazil at the weekend to take the last South American place at this summer’s Olympics. Otherwise Igor might well have been in Paris this July. According to Transfermarkt he was called up for The Brazil U23s at the end of last year but didn’t go because it wasn’t an official international break. They also claim fee is €33m up front + €4m add-ons.
Yeah, better than 9 in 33 for Toney last season40 apps 9 yellows. Not bad for a big forward?! One ban a season, at worse…..
He can team up with his mate Hertz van Rental. What’s a Dutchman got to do with it?
...but is he any good at taking penalties?Yes, that scouting report suggests he's extremely strong and physical, is very effective on set peices and, whilst he primarily plays as a central striker, he can also drop deep into pockets and create opportunities for others with a good passing range. Looks like we have our Toney clone.
Neither can hold a candle to 60 year old Kanu at PortsmouthHe and Bryan - the biggest discrepancy between estimated and actual age in the league?
In the article on the official site, it suggests he was working as a ‘builder’ from an early age, to provide for his family, following the death of his father. Are we sure he is 22?! Look like he has had a tough paperound.
...but is he any good at taking penalties?
Don’t worry Bryan is on pens from next season...but is he any good at taking penalties?
It seems a very shrewd way of doing business in the football transfer market, especially now we're competing with all the 'big boys.'I would guess we scouted him when he was with Ludogorets and Bruges got in last summer. If he was number one target as a centre forward, it seems we are paying their valuation and closing it early to be sure.
Playing in a top ranked league and European competitions. How does he qualify on the points system, he is not an international is he?
Can't remember all the fees in January, but if it had gone through then would it have been the highest signing?
Well said. To have signed a CF so early and under the radar gives us an fantastic opportunity to both progress significantly next season and to maximise the value of the other IT when he eventually goes and stops all this nonsense of other clubs poaching our potential signings. He looks the right size and stature to be effective in the PL and combined with KS and BM ? it could be an attacking force to scare any defence. I will now definitely renew my season ticket based on this potential strike force ?. Congratulations to everyone involved. Some Brentford fans are weird. Genuine question, why does anyone care how much money we've paid for a player? I would understand if we were somehow being asked to fund the purchase, but this is MB and his management team doing what they've done many many times before very successfully. If they announced it was an £80 million purchase I wouldn't question it as it's not my money and they know better than me what they're doing.
How about we are just happy with the fact that we've just bought a player that is clearly very good, without anyone knowing about it, meaning every other Premier League management team are now looking at this transfer and thinking "f***, have we missed another diamond of a player that Brentford will now turn into a world beater?"
Not very long ago we were a league 2 team. We're now punching above our weight in the Premier League, are one of the best managed clubs in the world from a financial point of view, and pretty much every signing we make is done without stress and to ensure that at no point does the selling club have a gun to our heads due to the fact that we've just sold a couple of players and have 100 million quid knocking around.
I'm in awe of our management team and how they conduct their business. We are the envy of a lot of other clubs fans, but for some reason there are Bees fans that still find a reason to complain or question what's happening. It's not your job to do that. You're a supporter, so support the club, STFU about stuff you know nothing about and enjoy another brilliant season in the best league in the world.
Just think about how much you've watched him compared to how much Phil Giles and his team have watched him, and conversations they have had with TF about him, then ask yourself "is my opinion really remotely relevant as to whether this is a good signing"?37 million euros - for this guy seems like a lot to me, from what I've seen on his very limited highlights reel - seems more like 20-25.
Perhaps he will prove me wrong (I really hope)
Just not too sure about him at the moment
Nusa seemed like a far more exciting prospect than this guy (although we do need a Toney replacement for the summer)
what do you think...![]()
Took the words right out of my mouth.Just think about how much you've watched him compared to how much Phil Giles and his team have watched him, and conversations they have had with TF about him, then ask yourself "is my opinion really remotely relevant as to whether this is a good signing"?
Looks like he has had a tough life, see that as a positive. I am sure he will be a fighter and do wonders for the club. Imaging him playing with Bryan and Kevin up top in 2024!In the article on the official site, it suggests he was working as a ‘builder’ from an early age, to provide for his family, following the death of his father.
So if we hadn't signed this lad (or anyone else before the close season), would you have contemplated not renewing?I will now definitely renew my season ticket based on this potential strike force ?.
What does that make Nicolas Jackson look like then?Chris Samba is the most expensive player never to be able to kick a football properly. He makes Kurt Zouma look like Messi.
