A hybrid of John O'Mara and Neal Maupay then?As the club, are so squeaky, with balancing the books, my gut says they've already done the Toney deal. The medical experts know, all these ligaments and tendon injuries, don't always heal properly, or permanently, that should be a metric in their planning. Rico, Bryan Kristoff and Josh naturally overexert themselves. We are gonna need that money for contingency. I reckon Ivan and the club know where he's going. On subject, Thiago's vids and profile reminds me of Emille Heskey. So... plenty of tap ins, hold up play, headers and assists, nothing flashy, but all essential, for winning games
With a lot more pace than either.A hybrid of John O'Mara and Neal Maupay then?
We do things differently which other clubs and their fans and pundits don't understand, it confuses them as it doesn't fit with the norm.already today I’ve had a couple of colleagues question the timing and cost of the transfer. Now, if this had been another club, who after announcing a failed medical for one player then subsequently bought a team mate for around the same price almost out of the blue, would it rise eyebrows, yes it probably would. Especially when you consider he’s their top scorer and they have play offs coming up so the timing of the announcement is also intriguing.
So even though I reckon it’s all rumour, we are gonna have to expect some will want to be asking questions
What are they going to ask about, we signed one player and not another? In regards to the ‘twitter talk’ about the link between the failed Nusa deal and this one….

On X/Twitter by a local Belgium Journalist, yeah. I cannot see how this can be true, unless the Nusa deal has also been done at a reduced price and there is some sort of risk assessment involved from a third party (bank, insurance, etc.) which means we cannot pay £31m for Nusa - but I doubt such a thing exists. Is it being suggested that we are spending over £30m because we backed out of signing a player following a medical?
Maybe - I mean we clearly haven't burnt any bridges with them following the Nusa deal falling through and they are ultimately getting the same money they would have got if he had signed in January.I think some Twitter people are really overthinking this deal. Club Brugge may simply have been up for doing this deal after Nusa fell through as they still wanted that sum of money, so now they were open to selling Thiago instead of Nusa.
Denkey fever!we should have signed the striker from the cercle brugge instead. Brilliantly named Ahoueke Steeve Kevin Denkey, 4 more goals this season too. Giles out
They’re completely different types of striker and Thiago is far closer in type to Toney than Denky who’s an excellent player in his own right.we should have signed the striker from the cercle brugge instead. Brilliantly named Ahoueke Steeve Kevin Denkey, 4 more goals this season too. Giles out
I dislike stupidity and rudeness - which begs the question why read the GPG? ?
Apologies in advance of my next few posts. ;-)I dislike stupidity and rudeness - which begs the question why read the GPG? ?

If you’re serious in your Giles out comment you’re acting foolishly. If it’s a joke it’s a really tired old trope.

Can we turn this into a photo and add it to the iconic photos thread. Some Brentford fans are weird. Genuine question, why does anyone care how much money we've paid for a player? I would understand if we were somehow being asked to fund the purchase, but this is MB and his management team doing what they've done many many times before very successfully. If they announced it was an £80 million purchase I wouldn't question it as it's not my money and they know better than me what they're doing.
How about we are just happy with the fact that we've just bought a player that is clearly very good, without anyone knowing about it, meaning every other Premier League management team are now looking at this transfer and thinking "f***, have we missed another diamond of a player that Brentford will now turn into a world beater?"
Not very long ago we were a league 2 team. We're now punching above our weight in the Premier League, are one of the best managed clubs in the world from a financial point of view, and pretty much every signing we make is done without stress and to ensure that at no point does the selling club have a gun to our heads due to the fact that we've just sold a couple of players and have 100 million quid knocking around.
I'm in awe of our management team and how they conduct their business. We are the envy of a lot of other clubs fans, but for some reason there are Bees fans that still find a reason to complain or question what's happening. It's not your job to do that. You're a supporter, so support the club, STFU about stuff you know nothing about and enjoy another brilliant season in the best league in the world.

| sporza
Both articles are from a Belgian sports news site. I’d love to translate it all, but that would take me quite some time. But you can use Deepl, just translated a short bit and it works perfectly.
First article is about how we were after Igor Thiago for quite some time and how this transfer isn’t linked at all to the transfer of Nusa. It was deliberate to catch everyone by surprise, especially because more clubs were showing interest now in Igor Thiago. And Thomas Frank was really convinced to have him as our new striker. Second article is from January of this year and gives an insight in how everything turned out well for Igor Thiago during this season
Are you a Brugges fan talking about Brentford? It’s a cracking place for a weekend away. Excellent bars, good food, friendly people and lots of touristy stuff.
What they guy that scored the goal that confirmed our promotion to the best league in the world? He came good in the couple of very important games that really mattered when we were down to bare bones.Hope he’s more successful than Marcondes
Not necessarily he could take like a duck to water and hit the ground running. Hoping that will be the case.It will take time for him to adapt, both to playing in the premier league and to living in England, never mind London.
A duck to water hitting the ground running sounds like failure to me.Not necessarily he could take like a duck to water and hit the ground running. Hoping that will be the case.
Blimey. He'd be forever suspended!A hybrid of John O'Mara and Neal Maupay then?
You hope....Not necessarily he could take like a duck to water and hit the ground running. Hoping that will be the case.
………….sandwiches/rolls for the GTech…………A duck to water hitting the ground running sounds like failure to me.
Interesting. Thanks for posting that.Article from Thiago agent said we've been tracking him since his move to Bulgaria. So not even related to Nusa deal.
Also that the recruitment team had analysed over 45 games and he hit 33 qualities they were after.
Also boasted about how they kept it silent. So all this Nusa related stuff is complete nonsense.

"Worked out well, didn't it?" - Agent delighted they kept big Brentford transfer secret, Thomas Frank impressive in talks
Brentford’s move for Igor Thiago was not a sudden move out of the blue but had long been in the pipeline. That’s according to his agents Marcelo Beer and Hugo, who have revealed their delight at keeping the deal secret. Brentford announced a surprise deal for the Brazilian striker yesterday...sportwitness.co.uk
Good article, wonder if we needed him to play in Belgium and Europe to get sufficient points to qualify to play in England? No adverts for me, suggest a decent Adblocker?Interesting. Thanks for posting that.
Also, reading articles like this on websites laden with advertisements are horrendous - We’re extremely fortunate here.
or perpetually sent to the blue chair.Blimey. He'd be forever suspended!
Makes me wonder where all the Nusa medical leaks were coming from then if it wasn’t Brugge (and obviously not us). Also boasted about how they kept it silent. So all this Nusa related stuff is complete nonsense.
Clue: what is the variable in the two transfers? The agent perhaps ?Makes me wonder where all the Nusa medical leaks were coming from then if it wasn’t Brugge (and obviously not us).

Completely agree with the sentiment of the post and just enjoying it all, but re: the fee...Some Brentford fans are weird.
