Daft comment. Maybe you forgot how good Toney was for us at his peak.

Has the potential to be as good or better than Toney certainly and brings a new dimension and enthusiasm to our forward play.

Already signs he will become a cult hero here, but let's not go overboard after 1 start.

Brings that much needed physicality to our front play. Norgaard pass to Bryan for our first goal was wonderful but it was made possible when Thiago won that ball initially. I just love the way he celebrates when his teammates score. Love him already.

Loved it when Burn had to pick himself up off the floor having been tackled by Thiago early in the first half and after he turned round the look was 'what the hell was that'! :unsure:

Don't quite understand - are you saying that he wasn't able to retain the ball? Didn't seem that way to me.

Don't want to get carried away but he had a 'presence' in 2 of our 3 of our goals before he was subbed. As well as the chance where Yoanne hit the post

1st goal he wins the long ball, and it eventually finds Norgaard. 3rd goal he occupies the defence, letting the ball go through to Collins. Wissa chance he was part of the build up and laid it off for Yoanne's runs

I've seen worse full debuts!

Can't comment fully as wasn't at the game; however from what I saw on MOTD, his attitude is looking brilliant thus far. Getting stuck in with the team talks, being the first to celebrate a goal and pumping his arms at the crowd, dancing at full time. Joyous stuff to see

Like many have said he was brilliant gave us extra up front …..to me he looked like a kid who had got the xmas present he really wanted and was excited all day….absolutely brilliant

Very promising start but hopefully he is given time to adjust to our style of play and get fully match fit. As well as his physicality he is also good on the deck and nearly played Bryan through in the second half with what would have been a pass as good as Janelts v Ipswich

We still did a lot but as with when we had Ivan, having the option to go long when the press is effective makes a huge difference. Not only by having an alternative outlet to break the press but also by making opponents have to think about how high they’ll want to press knowing that we have a beast up top who can win a long ball and either hold up play to let us break or himself go forward. We’re also seeing how good Flekken’s long balls out can be. They’re approaching Raya levels and he might well be becoming a better shot stopper than DR with the practice he’s getting!

I hope Igor starts to get the goals too but with Bryan, Yoane and Kevin all getting their eyes in I don’t mind at all if this season he’s more of a Heskey who just opens up our attacking variety and disrupts defensive plans.

Yes allows us to mix it up, if opposition commit to a high pressure we can now go over it with a high chance of retaining the ball. If opposition try to get players around Thiago to win second balls we have space to build up from the back and play through the thirds. If only Thiago was fit enough to play against Fulham...

Sir Frank seemed to pull him back from his enthusiastic FFD boogie in front of the West Stand. It's great that a Brazilian is happy playing in a cold wet windy stadium in Hounslow.

Yep agree wasn't a bad debut sat hopefully it continues. Was good to have a physical presence up there. Bit early to say he's better than Toney who scored 36 top flight goals in 75 games

I wouldn't say he was bullied.

In fact i would say he gave their defenders a right going over.

Sent Burn into next week at one point.

Watching the Newcastle highlights again and that run into the box early in the second half for Wissa’s shot… what an engine the guy has!
