They seem to be a dying breed in the modern game.
Well said, I agree. When you think that Arsenal, for example, could actually do with having someone like Chris Wood up top, goes to show that sometimes the old and tested ways are still applicable today.

We’ve all taken the piss out of Chris Wood over the years, so it’s a bit annoying he’s scoring quite a few this season! ?

Games like today and Forest at home are where we miss him most. Our attack is fantastic when we can get in behind but seems to struggle whenever anyone sits deep and gives us no space. So many crosses into the box with no real target to aim for.
How can we miss him? We don't even know if he's any good yet. ?‍♂️

Trimmed beard, smiling, standing comfortably, no socks. Interested what the medical and psychological experts on here make of that.View attachment 52672
Apart from the fact that he is stationary and we can’t tell if he’s got full mobility of his injured knee, he’s wearing the trademark Thiago ‘smile’ which I think is a good sign.

It must be a bit draughty around his ankles, though. Perhaps, it’s in tribute to the late passing of a pet? It could be he’s still growing - he’s only 23 - or he’s wearing Bryan’s trousers!

Would prefer to see him in full kit, but at least it's an upgrade on the wheelchair in tesco

A very nice cashmere overcoat. Glad the lad’s keeping himself warm in these un-Brazilian temperatures.

I know no one knows when he'll be back , maybe not even Tom , but does any one know when he maybe back ? :fishing: I'm excited and frustrated about him !

Do we even know which joint was infected? Presumably the knee that was operated, in which case that may not bode well for an early return.

My daughter in law had infection of a knee a couple of years ago and it took near a year to get better , bloody hope not for Igor sake and ours

Igor Thiago

He won't be back at 100% until the start of next season and a whole injury free pre-season. Just in time to replace Wissa, who'll be off in the summer

We'll need to recruit another striker as well. Clearly we cant pin next seasons hopes on a player who is uproven at this level and may or may not be fit.

I agree we'll need to buy if potentially Wissa and Mbeumo both depart in the summer. But we're unlikely to get a 'proven' PL striker to replace him. All of our strikers have been 'unproven' at this level until they have effectively 'proven' themselves, that includes Toney, Mbeumo and Wissa, none of whom had played in the PL before.
