In fairness to Roy Team England have been reviewing how we are to go forward in line with all the other National teams and as such this lad could, in time fit our new requirements therefore when asked it was a reasonable response

Used to be on the Friday night before the cup final nearly always at Highbury. I don't think many people bothered turning up so it was knocked on the head. The late, great Bert Trautmann was no 1 keeper for the Football league squad for quite a few years.

The lad's not spent months producing an academic report on nationality. He's been put on the spot by a journo, answered instinctively and then gone on to be misquoted / taken out of context.

To say "only English people should play for England" is reasonable.

He's not then gone on to consider the definition of English. I've always been comfortable with one parent. Less so at Grandparent, but that is a long established rule. English by naturalisation? Not so sure. English due to British Citizenship and living in England? Yeah, I think so.

Re: Wilshere - difference between us and him is that he is meant to be a professional footballer. Given you get booked for taking off your shirt when you celebrate a goal and he has form for this type of behaviour before (I think), I hope he gets a fine.

The bloke is a grade A pri** who symbolises everything wrong with professional footballer. No doubt he will be out injured for 6 months when they throw the book at him.

I think the problem may be that he did something similar after the Cup parade last year, causing the FA to have a word with him.

If the FA were to ignore it again, it would seriously weaken their authority and I don't personally think that an option.

Meanwhile, lots of players have been penalised for posting insults about other clubs/players on Twitter and Facebook etc.

Doing the same on an open top bus in Islington is no different in principle.

He was warned as to his future conduct by the FA last year. So he "got away" with it last year and then repeated his behaviour. What else do you expect the FA to do???

He's not as good as he thinks he is.
He's not as clever as he should be
He's not setting good examples, when we need modern players to be looked up to, respected and above this sort of thing.

I think he's got one more season to prove he can contribute fully to a team and actually show us that he will progress

Anyone who considers the likes of Jack Wilshire a role model, should be sterilised so that they cannot breed.
