no. he wouldn't add anything to the squad. he's not what he was. unless he wants a K O'C type of role where he works on his coaching and is "available" as cover. no idea if he's worthwhile as a coach
He always indicated he wanted out the game early. Clearly no longer the case.no. he wouldn't add anything to the squad. he's not what he was. unless he wants a K O'C type of role where he works on his coaching and is "available" as cover. no idea if he's worthwhile as a coach

tad harsh? he's only 32. couple more years?
or, people say stupid things when they're young?![]()
He stated his last contract at Ipswich would be his last, which he extended a further year, think he is in music business in some capacity
Was that his horse: Mister Miyagi, that finished third, beaten favourite in the big race at Kenton today?
..."Kenton"...? Have never seen a racecourse there. There was one in Northolt many years ago.
Thank you for pointing that out; how remiss of me! Must remember to check posts before posting in future - laziness in old age. To cap it all, I was there; not in North London - I can spell, but in Sonberry!! Did not notice Jay, as I saw the ownership later; was not looking, but probably hidden behind the jockeys anyway...."Kenton"...? Have never seen a racecourse there. .....Wycombe away.
That last minute winner, proper mental celebrations and wasn't that the walkers game as well?

Apparently now playing rugby union for Old Wimbledonians.
That rumour was probably not far from the mark, but as the following poster suggests it was probably union with his old school mates!
I think Jay confirmed the rugby stories in a Thorne In The Side interview, a good few years ago.
I can't knock Jay TABB, he was a top bloke at Brentford and still was after he left.
But who choses Rugby over Football; in any form?

Jay's always been interested in rugby and I'm pretty sure he played it (when not supposed to) on Sundays while at BFC.

At least some players do well after leaving Brentford....![]()
A whole squad of players left Brentford at the weekend and did rather well.

A nice article here about future jockey Jay Tabb
