Jay Tabb

Jay Tabb

Legend can suck my cock any time

Jay Tabb

Good to see him getting games. He'll be loving it.

Jay Tabb

From what I've seen of Tabb in the premier league he's good enough, much better than expected. But has his limitations at that level and I think after this season he'll drop down to championship/league one again.

Jay Tabb

Crystal ball time...

Outjumps Anton (or Rio) Ferdinand to score a last minute headed winner for us in our first Championship game of next season at Loftus Road.

Jay Tabb

Just watching MOTD. He could have made more of it when Jack Cork 'made contact' in the pen area. JT just got up and got on with it. Maybe not wise but I cant help respecting him more for it

I text him saying exactly the same thing and he came back saying that he didn't want to get booked for diving?!!

Jay Tabb

a matter of time before Reading notice their run of poor form coincided with Tabby being in the team

prove the doubters wrong Tabby, hat-trick next week :sorted:

Jay Tabb

Break the bank and bring him back

Jay Tabb

I've heard that 28 is the peak age for a midfielder. Jay Tabb is a 28 year old midielder. Bring the boy home Uwe

Jay Tabb

Satisfied now? lol

Didn't realise Reading fans rated him so highly.

I just thought you were in the know.. ;) you could have said it was announced on sky lol would off saved me the trouble :P

Jay Tabb

From what little I've seen of him this season, he's a Championship level player, but a good one.

Jay Tabb

I would love to see Jay Tabb back .. I'm not sure how realistic it would be regarding his wages and our playing budget ..but having said that if we can beat Southend the tv money from the game against Chelsea could give us the funds to make it a possibility ..but would Jay Tabb want to come and play in league 1 for half a season ?

Jay Tabb

Tabb on loan till the end of season becomes a legend by helping us secure promotion and is signed permanently as captain on a three your deal

Jay Tabb

Break the bank and bring him back

I am all for having Jay back, but break the bank, NO. Pay Jay in line with what the othet boys get. We have all moved on,

Jay Tabb

Who would he replace though.. Forshaw?

Not sure we would have a space for him in midfield now.

Hes already a legend

It's a squad game it's not about who he would replace obviously he would have to earn a place in the starting 11 a strong squad = promotion plus he is a championship quality player so if we do get promoted he would be good to go next season

Break the bank for no-one.some people just don't learn with what's gone on,as recent as the last 10 years Noades era.

I'd have Jay back without hesitation but wages would prevent it.he's an out and out legend, said when he eventually left he wants to come back to the Bees during his career, won't be yet though

Jay Tabb

He's not a legend because he really existed - I know this because I saw him.

What you planning for your 1000th thread or are you going to be nerviously out on 999

This definition seems to be the most apt for the modern use of the word.........
someone or something very famous and admired, usually because of their ability in a particular area

Tabby is still not a legend

Jay Tabb

Cant be any Brentford legends then in some peoples eyes:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

It will probably be about a new player I guess unless you have any requests.

Jay Tabb

Kevin O'Connor is a legend because of the number of years he has been ever-present even when people wrote him off.

Jay Tabb is just someone who is loved at the club for what he did in a relatively short space of time.

Huge difference

Then some peoples eyes are wrong. There's loads. Mostly from the 1930s.

In ablity that why Kev stayed no one else wanted him

Jay Tabb

He is in my eyes!

You can't just throw legendary status around willy-nilly.
If Tabb is a legend then people like Evans, Millen, Blissett, Holdsworth, Smillie are legends+1.
The likes of Harry Curtis, Ken Coote, Denis Piggott must be super-mega-hyper legends.

I'm not throwing legend status willy-nilly I cringe when people say Sam Sodje is a legend etc.

However, I do think that you have to induct a legend every now and then as you have supporters from different eras. When I first started watching aged 5 Brentford Evans, Millen, Holdsworth and Smilie were playing and whilst I remember them I can't remember them for their individuals talents. However, you have picked out 4 players from the same team, which obviously means alot to you. However, to others picking 4 players from one team and giving themlegend status, could suggest that it was the team as much as the individuals which made it so special. You obviously have an affinty to that team and that's fantastic.

However for me, the optimum time of me supporting Brentford (e.g. watching home and away) has been in the last 10 years during that time Tabb has been my favourite Brentford player and the way he conducted himself on and off the pitch were fantastic. The post he put on here when he left was incredible.

To me legendary status comes from several things; 1) length of service 2) the way you conduct yourself 3) what you did for the club but you don't neccessairly have to tick all 3 boxes to get that.

During my time I would say the legends have been 1) Jamie Bates 2) Kevin O'Connor and Jay Tabb. Some other people would say Martin Allen is for how he raised our profile and what he has said about us otherwise, and whilst I like Martin Allen and don't think he is a legend, I could certainly see why people would include him.

Jay Tabb

Evans, Blissett, Smillie - legends, greats call them whatever you choose. Holdsworth and Millen too.

Jay Tabb

some Bees fans are as bad as the queen giving MBE.. Tabb is no way a legend..
