Jo Kuffour

Apparently Kuffour has turned down Huddersfield.....

http://ichuddersfield.icnetwork.co....objectid=19125356&siteid=50060-name_page.html

Bad and good news in the following paragraph:

"His agent tells me he wants to go to the Championship and, if he can't get fixed up at that level, he wants to stay around the London area, so I'm a little bit disappointed about that. But this is what you have to put up with when you are talking to people."

Well I'm up at the Galpharm a couple of mornings a week swimming so i'll let you all know if i spot him around the ground :(
Please stay at Brentford Jo....

Maybe the Bristol city deal has broken down now JG has left?

I always gotthe impression they wanted him in jan for the promotion push, and since they have sealed promotion, perhaps they realise they can sign a better calibre of striker now they are a Championship club.

Bloke I know at Bristol City seemed to think it was a done deal until he got injured playing for us?

Jo Kuffour

I still think no other club in London wanting him is an insult to the man.

Jo Kuffour

It's still early days, he's got an offer from us and can afford to be picky and talk to a few others. I think we have to keep any offers we've made to players until the end of June but if he dallies any longer it'll be interesting to see if we wait or move for some one else

Jo Kuffour

Not sure how reliable this site is, but they say

"Brentford striker Jo Kuffour has snubbed the chance of a move to League One rivals Huddersfield - but it sounds like a move to Priestfield would be considered."

However it has no substantiation at all in the article and looks like a typical article from a commercial website with "editors" that are financially encouraged to write stories. Just a hunch based on they wanted to buy the GPG at one point

Jo Kuffour

Financial encouragement to write stories? Sounds a good idea to me

Jo Kuffour

Evans & Benstead night was a waste wasn't it :(

Jo Kuffour

Thinking about it. A few grand and Bish off my case......

I'd be more than pleased to see him move to us at Orient. From the sounds of it though he is hoping to go to QPR or Palace.

Jo Kuffour

Yep, he is the one who played well against you, you will remember. I fear he may want to go to a big club though ;) :fishing:

Jo Kuffour

what happened to the "oh he's DEFINITELY going to a championship club", "he's already signed" etc etc?

i lost count of all the people who knew something i didn't, and were quite happy to tell me.

Jo Kuffour

he does not strike me as the ambitous type so I reckon he'll stay

From the same crap sources that told us Ide was off ( and we didn't have an option on him...FACT..) and Willock had another year on his contract etc etc..

Its the old tabloid trick, you make a statement based on half truths and with a bit of luck it comes good and you look like a smart arse, if it doesn't you quickly chnage the tune.

Jo Kuffour

...there's still hope then..........

Jo Kuffour

Without knowing what his options are, Kuffor could well be waiting to see who further Brentford sign to weigh up whether we have a good chance of a promotion push, as his other options may well be more relegation battles in a higher division. Which he might just want to avoid again in order to show case his talents even more in a winning team. :fishing:

Jo Kuffour

Jo was hailed as our prize ssett last season in the most appalling season ever.

If he stays with us next year and produces again ( which he should as he did playing last season in the most awful team) and we are there or thereabouts, he will attract more attention as players do, who perform in "winning" sides, especially goalscorers.

He has been offered the highest wage at the club ( and we know how much our highest earners are on ) so is not going to be short of a bob or two and having TB leading the team does seem to be a bit of a draw for players.

I hope he stays as was resigned to the fact that he had gone already as so many people had said without a shadow he had signed elsewhere.

Jo Kuffour

Really.

I read it as he was offered the best deal the club could afford, which is not always the same thing.

First TB said the best deal then in a later interview said he would be one of the highest, then the highest paid player at the club

Thanks for clarifying, I hadn't heard that.

It concerns me that we are considering offering him so much cash, if he's going to become our highest paid player we are looking at upwards of 100k a year.

He's not that good

Jo Kuffour

How have you come to this conclusion?

Oh you are so negative.....surely the signings of Sherringham, Kanoute, Paddy Kenny, Joey Barton and other big fish, like Guy Branston will convince you of all big name pulling power of Big Butch Terry :sorted:

Exactly! :D PMA

Jo Kuffour

PMA is a great thing, but anyone who believes that Jo Kuffour is considering staying needs to wake up. I really wish he could stay, but quite clearly he will not.

I know you're kidding but I'm baffled as to how TB has great pulling power. Hopefully ask me in 6 weeks and I'll agree but so far isn't it obvious that after all the phone calls and contacting being done a few weeks ago that maybe people said "no"..........

Bond spoke very highly of JK after the game down there, so not surprised he would want him.
However if JK is going (and if not to a championship club) why any ambitious player would choose Bournemouth over Huddersfield is a mystery.
Yep i know Hudders aint on the beach but they are a much bigger club than AFCB and have a superb stadium. A six figure salary would go a long way in Huddersfield, which is surrounded by lovely villages and beautiful countryside:wave:

Not a patch on Dorset IMHO...

:imwith:

Getting Butcher in so early raised hopes that maybe he'd be able to get some players in before holidays/etc and so avoid the pre-season transfer scramble that we had last year under Leroy. At the moment, from his comments on the OS it's looking worryingly like we're going to start pre-season training with pretty much what we've got at the mo, which aint a very comforting thought tbh.. :(

I look forward to being proved wrong though!! :sorted:
