cant quite see what he did in the home games since Milwall apart from a shot against Carlisle and some fancy flicks , more often than not he either lost the ball or looked fairly dis interested, wonder why he didnt get on the last few games

He sounded a special player in the Millwall game (I wasn't at that game) and I was looking forward to seeing him. I probably got my hopes up too high and I had expected more from him. I wouldn't go as far as saying he wasn't up to it though.

Totally agree with him from what I saw. Full of talent but I don't think he liked the conditions, pace or physicality and unless showing off some fancy footwork (which rarely amounted to much) didn't look interested.

his skill and ball control are in a completely different class to anyting we have seen at brentford for a long long time. he never stoppped trying and if you think he was disinterested well......you're just plain wrong

I would have loved to see him play at GP with the lad who has just signed on loan for MK Dons after being on loan at Orient. Still think they will both be Prem players at 20.

There's absolutely no doubting Bostocks talent but he needs to apply himself a little bit more. However, I think it's unfair to expect a teenager to dominate every game for 90 minutes. Even Shelvey at Charlton doesn't start every game.

I saw every home game and stand by what I said and surprisingly it seems Harry Redknapp and Andy Scott seem to agree with me hence why he has been sent back to Spurs.He has talent but at the moment no application

You also need to take into account that he is only 17! At the moment I think the arrangement is good for all parties, would be intertesting to see how he fares in the Championship (if he goes), as he has been a little inconsistent as pointed out. Having said that I hope he stays as he gives us something that we don't have too much of in midfield, creativity.

Can't comment on his attitude when he wasn't in the team, but I wouldn't accuse him of not trying when he played - just occasionally trying the wrong things in the wrong parts of the pitch.

His performance against Millwall perhaps became a millstone round his neck, as he was outstading then, and people expected the same every week, which isn't reasonable for a kid

He has the potential to be a top player, but the next year or two will be key

Step over and brilliant cross for the winner v Colchester. One of the best bits of skill that will be seen at GP this season and it got us the 3 points that started this run.

Imho he actually performed well in many of the games, but because he isn't one to be running around chasing a ball or having to win a tackle with his 2nd touch he maybe didn't look the sort of player we are used to at our level. He also often had 2 players getting close to him because if his close control which opened up space for others around him. Unfortunatley these things go unnoticed by many who only see the open spaces and not how they were created. What happens off the ball is often as an important as what happens with it.
I suspect he will now go to a Championship club and showcase his talents more.

You can question his consistency, but personally I can't see how you can question his commitment or application. As for talent, without doubt one of the most naturally gifted players I've seen at GP. It must be incredibly hard to stay "grounded" when you're on the money he's probably earning and with the media interest comparing him to Barcelona's finest since the age of 15. At the age of 17 (now 18?) I hope he gets really good guidance, and hope to say in years to come "I saw him at Brentford when he was 17" as he does the business at a much higher level. Constructive criticism is one thing, but constantly knocking a young kid won't help. John Bostock or Eddie Hutch ? I know which I'd go for...

Agree with GeeBees's assessment and would add that the style of football that Spurs play compared with ours is poles apart and sometimes a player will be looking for runs off the ball etc that our players may not make.

Also, tbf, as a ball-playing 17 year-old playing for 3 months in the worst weather conditions of the season, he seems to have done pretty well. At times he was playing a lot more games than our guys - 8 gamess in 19 days was it?? Quite a workload for a young lad.
