Just heard the last bit of him saying "div 1 will be completely distorted this season and teams like Leeds Charlton might only get a draw at Brentford now where as before they would certainly have won".Well what a great one man team we now must have,what an absolute ****** only tuned in because someone text me about it.I stopped listening to TS months ago its now full of piss heads and women beaters talking sh*te.

Adrian Durham is a To**er.

His fantastic idea to stop this, was to only allow loans players to drop 1 division. So prem players could only be loaned to Championship! This is the most stupid idea I have ever heard.

I didn't have the pleasure of watching wonderkid on Saturday......There must be a fault. Dodgy haircut, Secret Fulham tattoo. It's just not Brentford to have someone playing who wins so many accolade's.

he also picked up the crowd, the team whilst taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Not bad for a 17 year old, I won't use the word wonderkid but I will say that I am looking forward to watching him again bigtime.
If he has an average game I can imagine him looking very lazy as his class didn't require too much of that dirty work that most players in our division need to do.

The whole objective of the game is to sign the best possible players for your team to enable you to move forward and win things for your club! How can that be cheating? Real Madrid signed Ronaldo to enhance their squad Chelsea Man City have the monopoly on big name signings and in the lower leagues the skill of the management is to sign the best possible players. If we are indeed cheating then Notts County, Huddersfileld, Leeds should all be thrown out of their respective leagues for cheating! What an arse.... As the other posters have mentioned it was surely just to provoke a reaction,

Probably because he seems to know what a talented footballer looks like but so far has not had enough financial support within the club to make acquisitions of such players.

Based on his transfer history and apparent quality (based solely on the Millwall game) John Bostock would always at this point in time be outside the range of other than the very big spending clubs.

Although the terms on which Huddersfield signed Jordan Rhodes are not in the public domain it would probably not have been unreasonable to have expected Brentford to have been able to sign him. It must be doubtful whether the cost would have been more in relative terms than was paid for Nicky Forster in 1994 or Herman Hreidarsson in 1998. By missing out on Rhodes' signing the current worry is that not only did the club miss out on acquiring the services of a talented young player but also missed out on the possibility of receiving the sort of substantial transfer fees that were received for Forster and Hreidarsson.

If the club is to make progress to the next level it does need to be able to acquire quality young players. Hopefully this will be more possible with the new arrangements than it has in the recent past.

Didn't Forster only go for £400,000? For his ability, and for what his sale cost the club, I wouldn't ever describe his transfer fee as "substantial" :(

Anyway, :backtotopic: Bostock is way, way too good for us, and I urge everyone to simply enjoy his talent whilst we can. It'll be great to see him play for England and be able to say "I saw him play for the Bees"!

I tried to get through to the ar*ehole last night to give him a scenerio of what have happened if his idiot idea was in place.

So what would have Turner done had Charlton then a prem club not been allowed to loan him to us in League 1?

For him it was a chance to get regular football and kick start his career in the end he moved across to us and as we know the rest is history where he moved on to better things

He wouldn't have had the chance if he had stayed in Charlton's reserves

What the pratt also fails to understand is that Bostock hasn't yet played in the Prem for Spurs

what chance do we have in keeping JB till the end of the season? would it be a case of when we last had James Wilson when Bristol City got him back, from his initial loan and wanted to send him to a league 1 side?

Would Arry send JB to a championship side now it looks like he can hold his own in League one (I'm working on the theory that the rest of the games he plays for us will be man of the match material :D )

Hopefully Arry will think it better for Bostock's confidence and development to be a star in Lge 1 than a fringe player in Championship

That would be great, but we'll have to see. Someone posted after Millwall that the Lions were grossly unprepared for Bostock and he thus had a field day. Not saying the lad isn't a class act but his impact will not have gone unnoticed. We'll see his long term quality if he can show the same kind of performance when players and managers have made their preparations with him in mind.
He looks like he can deal with any strong arm tactics and imo if teams try and double up on him he has enough quality to give them the slip and exploit the space.

He'll cope with two and surely that opens up space for the rest. One thing we've shown this year is that we struggle to open up teams who like to defend in numbers. If he takes the attention of two then I'll be pleased.

I totally agree that the way foriward is to either develop or sign promising youngsters, improve them and either build a worldbeating team or sell them on at a massive profit.

I just think that with the Rhodes situation the figures just could not have added up.

I have no knowledge of the deal but lets hypothesise that he cost them up to say £350-400K based on performance etc and he is being paid £4K per week. These are total guesses but I can't see us being anywhere near being able to challenge or match these kind of figures.

I think there are more excellent players in Non League and not just in the Blue Square Premiership where everyone knows about say Brodie at Yprk and Tomlin at Rushton - and they wiol go for good money, but there are fantastic kids at Weladstone and other such clubs.

Thescouts all know about them but there are many examples of players this season going from the Ryman league straight into a Div 2 team so IMO we need to be prospecting there more often.

To a degree we already are, Moses hasn't yet come off and Simon Moore is along term prospect but I think we could find a whole team of prospects from the Ryman and Blue Square South (not even the B Sq Prem) who could improve our squad at a reasonable cost.

Forster was only sold by Webb so that he could pocket his cut, he made no attempt to replace Forster and ultimately cost us promotion. :nono:

I have just read that John Bostock was substituted in the second half of the England u/19 game, by Gardner( who scored)
But, numerous subs were made.
I just hope it was not due to injury.
And that he is saving himself for causing lots of damage to Walsall on Saturday...

Apologies for the late arrival, but just couldn't let this go by......Sinton shone like a beacon in that drab McLintock side from the word go. From memory his debut was at home to Bury & we won 1-0, a penalty he scored after he was himself brought down in the area. It was clear immediately after his first game that 20K was an absolute steal, an old pals act on behalf of John Docherty (Cambridge Utd manager at the time) if ever there was one.
