abee,

Regarding your comment that you will be making no further comment on the GPG Towers comment regarding the lack of comment on the official website (other than the statement saying that Bostock has gone back to Tottenham) on the subject of John Bostock and that comments from GPG Towers asking you to comment further will not be acknowledged and that this is your final comment on the GPG Towers comment, I would like to further comment that this comment clarifying your intention not to comment further is welcome but would ask anyone with any concerns to direct their own comments about this lack of comment by yourself in this thread.

This is on the front page..........GPG Towers refer to themselves as 'we'.

Not 'another person' criticising 'The GPG Headline' pages surely...:fishing:

Try saying this when your drunk! ;)

Your occasional swipes at the club are mildly amusing to some perhaps but when the club announces that a player is signed on loan and gives the term of the loan I would have thought that most interested supporters aged over five could work out without GPG Towers prompting that if the expiry date passes then.... erm........the loan has finished. I'm sorry that we didn't advise you of the blindingly obvious and to make amends and for another sensational exclusive for the GPG the club is expecting an electricity bill next week. We'll tell you if it doesn't arrive and you'll be the first with the story. I should also have let you know that the January wages were paid on time and I'm also sorry that we failed to advise supporters that we haven't gone into administration.

Po-Leees killed GPG towers!

I suspect this will be mildly amusing at best to about .2% of the people who read it, but trust me it's quite a clever pastiche. :)

You mean a mature charming post like this one having a quite unnecessary swipe at the Club Shop manager :

BoroBee said:
I'm sorry to dampen a wonderful day, but exactly how much money was lost by a catastrophic balls up by the Superstore / merchandise manager? As reported earlier, I went to the shop at 12.30 (early, I thought!) to find absolutely nothing for the ahem .. larger gent in the store. Presumably hundreds of big bastards like me went in looking to spend and all of them would have left without handing over their cash.
I was prepared to spend £50-60 in Champions merchandise and in the end I spent a tenner on two mugs! When I asked the woman behind the counter if they would be re-ordering larger sizes, she shrugged and she that she doubted it - why???? Will we not sell them during the summer / at the start of the new season? B*llocks will we not!

Ok let's do some fag-packet maths - 12.30 - 2.30 = two hours before the match = conservatively 200 people through the door in an hour = 400 people, of which 300 are big blokes looking to spend £10-£20 = roughly £5,000 of merchandising money lost in the most important afternoon of our club's history in ten years!

What a balls up! - the manager of that store hang your head in shame.

I gather that you haven't got your XXXXXXXL replica shirt yet then which in your opinion was a result of a 'catastrophic ballsup'.

A 'catastrophe' is not the club shop running out of your size shirt on the day that we celebrated the Championship....that's 'a pity' at most. Try and get a little perspective please and I well understand that you hang around like a cat at the mousehole waiting for any posts by BeeH or myself that you believe give you the opportunity to have another pop about simply nothing.

Miaow! (sorry couldn't resist)

FWIW I agree with your comments regarding the shop runniong out of stock - surely better we have sold out on the last day of the season than left with surplus we can't shift?

Oh it's only a bit of fun......BoroBee forfeited any right to be taken seriously a long time ago. When BoroBee put up his first critical post......(after the Luton match for God's sake)......someone also commented to the effect that life was much better under the old management 'cos they could always go into the club shop and buy whatever they wanted and in whatever size they needed. I bet they bloody could.....but it didn't seem to occur that this should be alarming and not something in praise of the former management. The reality is that currently we make hardly anything from the sale of replica shirts. The former CEO had signed a lengthy deal that BFC had to 'take and pay' for 4,000 replica shirts per season. We've done this to death in the past but to briefly repeat several of his 'swans' turned out to be 'geese' which crippled us financially in the short term. Bee H chiefly and to a much lesser extent myself had to negotiate our way out of some of the former CEO's 'deals'. We held no cards at all.......we just had to explain the position and take our lumps. We could have been told 'Tough titty and we hope that you've got room for the 16,000 shirts that are heading your way over the next four years' but finally we got the 'take and pay' volume down to 1,750 but took a beating on the price. There's no way out for us until the contract runs out and knowing the incredible amount of work that was put into re-negotiating the contracts plus the substantial write-offs of the old stock in hand I read the GPG in a happy mood after what I thought was a great day at home to Luton only to see a thread which included a post by BoroBee that I thought was totally over the top. The dramatic 'catastrophic balls-ups' comments......the 'headbanging smilies', the 'hope' that the shop management were 'hanging their heads in shame' and the rest of the post simply made Bee H and myself wonder what the **** we were even doing trying to get the place sorted out. Be clear BoroBee I suspect couldn't give a twopenny toss about my tongue in cheek comments re GPG Towers......he's on record in the old thread that he considers me incompetent (which is fair comment if that's what he believes) and he's had a swipe at Bee H on there as well. If he thinks he sees any opening to have a dig then he will. That's fair enough and I accept it as part of the job but it does mean that if I feel in the mood to respond then I will.

Anyway all good fun........

Indeed :)

Anyone know the score of the reserve fixture at Ipswich, or whether or not BFC supporters should just jump on their trains and into their cars tomorrow  I won't even ask how many tickets we asked for against Norwich. :D

I regret if anyone is upset at the GPG Towers's gentle tickling with a feather duster of the communications of BFC on these matters. I am sure that "we at GPG Towers" are only slightly exasperated that we don't thank some players for their service to the club. As for the requirement to keep track of loans and contracts, well if that's what's needed to understand which players have left and why without so much as a bye-as-you-leave then I think that is "sub-optimal".

Onwards & Upwards.

- 0-0

- Yes

-Don't know but there were a number of empty seats in our end which pissed me off, especially as we're going to be taking 2,800 to Leeds.

Have you emailed the club re its communications policy?

Back on topic.

I enjoyed the Bostock experience and was sad to see him go back to Spurs.

Wishing him well for what should be a good career.

This lad seems to be highly rated and there was much furor surrounding his move from C. Palace to the Spuds; how did he get on at Griffin Park? Did he look that special? I know one thing though - he's obviously nowhere near as good as Jack Wilshere!

Future England left midfield player, could well outshine Wilshere. Arsene missed a trick not grabbing him from Palace.

http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/4502/38/

something by WSC on Bostock v Charlton.

What a ridiculous piece.

"With the ball thrashed breathlessly from end to end at Griffin Park, Bostock was, for the majority of this contest, a rather bemused spectator. Indeed, isolation on the wing among unfamiliar team-mates must lead the mind to wander somewhat and at times it did seem that he was lost in thought, far, far away from the mud-splattered battle around him."

"As he sat on the bench, staring out on the field, I wondered if he could hear the taunts of the Charlton fans or if he even cared. He probably just wanted to go home, wherever that is."

How can the author possibly arrive at that conclusion without talking to Bostock or seeing him in other games for us? WSC has always been up it's own arse I'm afraid.

John Bostock

who needs bostock now we've got a full bermudan international on trial ?

agree on ridiculous piece, disagree on WSC as a generalisation. some of the writing is very good and witty.

John Bostock

But he was poor against Charlton. The pitch was awful and that little twerp Bailey did his best to get him sent off before Scott stepped in and subbed him.

John Bostock

generalisations based on football cliche's who would have thought it. Why don't they come back and see if Chesney feels lost?

John Bostock

I think we've ****ed up big time here by playing him out of position and then sending him back early.

Fair play to Big Bee, I think I heard you utter this phrase, after his second goal, against Millwall :sorted:

John Bostock

Wonder whether he'll bee one of the 'youth team players' Harry has said will be on the bench at Leeds tonight? After all, has seen them first hand already!

John Bostock

the lovejoy piece is just pure genius

"Hopelessly banal and nauseatingly self-assured, smirkingly unfunny, it’s a £300 T-shirt, a piss-you-off ringtone, a YouTube clip of someone drinking their mate’s vomit. Its smugness is a corollary of its vacuity. I hope it makes you sick."

big time christian.....

In the matchday programme i think it was the Charlton or Doncaster one, the players were asked what their new years resolutions were , his was to read the bible more...

I disagree with this tbh. How many players have never played pro football but been in Premiership academies when they come to us and have been poor. Tillen, Kitamirike, osei sankofa, the left back from chelsea when Butcher was manager. All lacked what it needed for premiership but could have had better league careers if they had been exposed to them at a younger age like Karliegh, Hunt, Sodje, Dj, Mahon, Powell..

Good examples. I agree with you as do Harry Redknapp, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho. Of course your not going to learn "premiership" skills but your not going to get them in the academies or in reserve matches either, but playing regular competitive football is the next thing. Ok it didn't work out for Bostock in the end but anyone at the Millwall match would realise he impressed through his skill, not because he ran/kicked/tackled better than everyone else.
