GP is not the New Den though. In recent years BFC has looked to build up its fan base as a community/ family club.I contrast the ludicrous welcome given to Douglas to the way Craig was dealt with at the New Den last year. A real legend down there, he got nothing until the final whistle and was then applauded and my guess is he would have expected nothing else. I didn't mind the greeting whilst Douglas was warming up, but when he came one - just bonkers
The reason I don't agree is that had we been 3 up and he was coming on, I would have clapped him as the events of the day had put me in a happy mood where a bit of happy clap would have finished the day off nicely, yesterday was simply a dig to the team and owner as we were crap for 50 minutes and it was a way of giving it all a thumbs down.
Quick question - who got a better ovation when they came on - Douglas or Vibe?
If it was Douglas, a lot of people have got a lot of thinking to do.

Proper fans was out of order but I was angry, my point should have been that I prefer away games as we turn up with a more siege and together mentality than the day out and soft atmosphere at GP when the lights aren't on. We won't be clapping home players at Bristol and Burnley unless there is a bad injury, I prefer to give what little I offer to my own team.
What's this "Josh Douglas" thing about?
ask the itk brigade
Loyalty works both ways and clubs and players have no loyalty to each other. Fans are the only loyal consistent in football.
nah i don't need to I stood up and applauded him when he came on the pitch.
Will you do the same for Mo given your comments on his move?
Josh was a bad egg so no clap from me. Great player for most of his time with us so it's a shame it ended sour.
No I won't because Moses was only here for a year and not part of the promotion winning squad. Moses left simply for the money.
JD bad egg or not but was an instrumental part of where we are today. JD was asked to leave. I repeat I would have been disappointed if JD was still here more on footballing reasons, and whatever happened has happened. I don't know who people think it is embarrassing clapping a former player.
What a soft as ***** home crowd we have become.
I can't understand why you would be willing to clap JD and not Mo, JD was a bad egg after a while and Mo just got on with his football, albeit for only a year. Both improved us so why you can "dislike" one who has left after a successful year, yet have more support for the one that caused trouble and was forced out.
It's quite simple - the first chance to Moses had, he departed. Moses went for the money and in his words to a 'bigger' club. His comments were disrespectful to the club and fans that did support him. JD gave us 4 years, Moses gave us 1 year.

**** me this is boring. Can we concentrate our efforts on more productive threads please?
This isn't new mate sadly, think the stewarding has got stricter which has been unnecessary, but many supporters need to look at themselves and work out who they are/should be supporting. The Warburton chants after he was leaving didn't help, singing the same song directly after the Fulham and Boro games also didn't help, we should have been singing about our club which may not exist without Mr Benham.
Jesus get over it....It wasn't clapping, it was a standing ovation with some much man love attached that I am wondering why we all bother, had I seen that from a home crowd at 2-0 down, I would have added it to my portfolio of home crowds are sad collection, sadly the joke was on us.
Scunny away under Uwe, 200 max Bees there, one up and the home crowd are septic, they want the manager gone, the board out and the players shot, we sub a sh*t Paul Hayes and they stand to applaud their former hero, most that were there were laughing at this mad moment. They got a draw somehow too, pure comedy .

Thank goodness - and I hope we can get some self-respect back and turn Griffin Park into the cauldron of vitriol (or something like that) for the opposition. All this cuddly, pub-on-each corner, novelty old-school friendly ground stuff is doing my head in.Douglas can fade into history now. The circus had left town.
Douglas can fade into history now........
I took back the proper fan comment, said in anger and I will grow up one day.

I've written Clayton a poem so there is hope for me yet, all I need is 5 mins of the mic at HT Tuesday week and I'm off.
bollox. not read this thread. there's obviously a reason why MB elected to get rid - we've all heard rumours of unrest in the dressing room - this guy nearly put Jota out for a season and everyone's bleating on for him at the game? i wasn't there, but from what i've read i think it is disrespectful to the entire BFC set up to cheer and clap and give a standing ovation to an ex-player outside of the warm up or end of game - bollox.
Thanks for the mammaries.
Wouldn't get too worked up about it mate.
most of the people giving Josh a clap would be unaware of the "politics".
Peeps forget there's a huge chunk of fans not online who just turn up and watch the footie and no idea of what's folklore on here.
storm in a teacup, i cant get worked up about stuff like this

Under most circumstances you would of course be right. But the comments on here and social media and the continuing adulation after the events of last February of Warburton suggest that there is a significant % of our fanbase who don't approve of the way that the club is being run. The delusion that these people are suffering from is that the club could still exist as a viable concern without MB. I suspect these people are very similar to the Labour party supporters voting for Corbyn.
They are hoping that he will lead them to a promised land by going back 80 years to the values the party had.
What they will do however is destroy it. The club simply cannot survive as it was 10 years ago.

The one guy who should be getting a standing ovation is MB, and whether JD got too much/too little applause yesterday is irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things. It's over.
However, more importantly whether you agree or disagree with MB's approach, the fact is we wouldn't be in the Championship, none of the current squad would be here, and we'd be talked about in the media for about 12 seconds per season.
He who pays the piper calls the tune, and as far as I'm concerned I like the music I'm hearing!
