The FA and football league should investigate players who repeatedly put in foul challenges that result in career changing injuries. MM should be put under the spot light as well, has any other club at this level single handedly caused so much damage. I would not imagine so. Ipswich are just thugs pretending to play football.

Agreed, but he wouldn't be doing them if his manager didn't condone the behaviour.

He made a number of wild challenges while with us, particularly in the second half of last season. The difference was that they were more central on the pitch and he never got close enough to make strong contact. If he's in or around the box with players in much closer proximity, then those wild challenges are more likely to make contact and do damage.

Another 'I didn't mean to break a leg, of course I wasn't intending to do that' message from an Ipswich player.

They never "mean" to do it, but it is a consequence of irresponsible play, it will end up happening and has happened at least 3 times now this season.

Went to PSF Barnet vs Ipswich on Wednesday night.
Dougie played the first half. Had some Ipswich fans sitting behind us.
One said "Skuse and Douglas look alike".
His friend said "What's the difference?"
"Douglas is bigger and a worse player".
I had to laugh.

A few did just behind the away dugouts. When admonished by some of us, they obviously had no clue why - that he'd injured Jota in the corresponding fixture about this time last year by treading on his foot, which put him out of action for months. Never the same player again. Perhaps some of the clappers would care to defend themselves?

As well as crocking Jota I think it was also his undue influence and conduct behind the scenes, including strops when not playing - it's all on here somewhere.

Plus he seemed to go MIA when we needed him most - eg Middlesboro in the Play off 2nd leg.

In the Ealing Road today when he first came on, I reckon a third did nothing, a third clapped and a third booed - I was in the latter category as childish as that may be.

Not worth discussing any more. He's history and I didn't particularly warm to him as a player and don't have a lot of interest in him now.

I got into an argument with two " fans " a couple of rows back. He was a good captain apparently. Bloody fools clapping an opposing player who crocked Jota. I really do wonder sometimes.

We needed him most in the first leave when all of his team mates were getting kicked left right and centre.

A clap when he warmed up and clap when he came back on, I don't get it.

Yeah I'm just behind the dugouts. I've watched the clip back a few times and can't see how it could be construed as intentional, and therefore clapped him for 4 years of excellent service

As I've seen the video (which I see as an attempt to block a shot) and there's no proof of that, I'd personally prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt

I've seen it too.....definitely looked late with studs up to me......and there's suggestions (anecdotally I'll grant you) that JD was not keen on our Spanish contigent......no benefit of the doubt from me I'm afraid....

Let's be clear, for two seasons he was Brentford FC's most important and effective player. That is Jonathan Douglas. I know there are all sorts of racists on this site, including anti non Unionist Irish, but Douglas was our leading player for two seasons, including our last promotion season.

We are being very clear when we say he is an arsehole. One who caused trouble behind the scenes, a dirty **** who is injuring ex teammates

And Alan Mac, and John Egan. They are all fine.

Seem to remember it only being Douglas and one other Irish player in the championship that was kicking up a fuss about having the poppy on the kit for a game.

The clapping Bees fans clearly remember the service he gave to this club rather than being influenced by the nonsense on here. Shameful, but I won't let it spoil my day. Suckers
