I completely disagree, they are making some decent signings this summer considering they don't have European football to bargain with these days. They probably have a better squad than Arsenal now, but I am not sure what that says about either of them? :D

That's quite a shift from last season, considering how far apart each side finished in the league. Are you going to place a bet on Liverpool finishing higher than Arsenal this season?

What odds would I get? I can't see any markets for it. If the squads stay the same I can see it happening, I doubt the bookies would give you odds worth getting excited about though.

I don't think Liverpool have strengthened well at all, Aspas has an average goal return in a poor side, Alberto was a Barcelona reserve.the only good signing is mignolet.they also have probably the worst transfer business record in the league.

if suarez goes it's mid table at best for them

Coutinho was a quality signing and they have some decent players when they're on form (Sterling, Lucas, Sturridge), but it seems like Rodgers' youth policy has gone out the window, with all these foreign signings.

Did he ever have a youth policy? If I recall correctly it was Dalglish who tried to blood in the youth. Countinho, Suarez and Sterling as a front 3 is frighting and they will only get better, however whether they will all stay is another matter.

I got the impression that Rogers was carrying it on, there seemed to be all manner of unheard-of Liverpool kids being played in the first half of last season (plus the likes of Shelvey and his mates Allen and Borini), but the real young kids probably won't get a look in now.

Not far off it. Needs to do it over a longer period and maybe at Europe's top table to be up there with the likes of Messi, Ronaldo etc. If he can achieve that with Liverpool is a different matter.

Not having a go at you Hanworth, but this type of thinking dismay's me and is part of the malise (sp) of football in my ever so humble opinion. Thinking that there are only two or three clubs (Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea for example, or Real Madrid, Barcelona etc) that the best players should play for perpetuates the "ghettoising" of our game into the same old clubs winning everything. Its boring and damages the game.

Liverpool are currently 2nd in the Premier League and are a club with a rich history. That should be enough for them to retain Suarez and he's certainly getting all the attention he could possibly want.

Although contracts nowadays mean absolutely nothing. Still reckon If someone like Real Madrid, Barca etc offer £100 million for him, the Scouses would accept it.

I know he will be paid a wad load of cash, but from footage of him off the pitch it seems he genuinely enjoys his life in Liverpool. Comes across as enjoying the simple pleasures in life

Depends what get out clauses he has ie Champions league football and 80 million release clause.remember Bale signed a 4 year deal at spurs last year.

fair play to him and Liverpool for working it out. mind you if i was being paid 200k per week i'd find a way to work it out :cool:

I did think of this the moment Moyes took over and brought Felleini with him. I don't think it will be simple like that. I just think English football will be more competitive than it has been. No real dominant team.
