Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez

A racist doesn't deserve to be a footballer and the life that goes with it. Racists are some of the scummiest low lives on our planet. I could think of a lot worse he deserves.

Have you ever watched as a team mate has been carted off to hospital with a compound fracture or similar injury?

I don't know if he's a racist or even if he's nice to little old ladies. I'm not an apologist for his behaviour I just don't believe it is right to wish a career endng injury to any player sorry.

He admitted he racially abused Evra.

I have and it is a horrible thing to happen. Believe me BaldersBee I wouldn't wish it on most. But people like him should be locked up with their out dated, uneducated views although sadly it will never happen. I make no apologies for wishing him a short lived career. I am not a violent person but If I witnessed someone racially abuse someone I knew or family, a compound fracture would be the least of their worries. I REALLY cannot stand it. Please don't feel I am having a go at you BaldersBee I don't mean to sound that way, just feel strongly about this type of thing.

No that's fine it's your opinion and whilst I disagree with it I respect that it's your opinion as it's obviously something you feel strongly about as do I. We'll just agree to differ on this one. He'll pick up a 4-5 game ban for the bite and the press frenzy will die down and that'll be that.

Luis Suarez

Was he brought up in the rainforests by a pack of Hyenas - if yes I can totally forgive his resorting to biting when faced with a larger foe who he feels threatened by.

Luis Suarez

I had to laugh at what he did. . He has a screw loose that's for sure but sacking him and these huge bans are silly talk. .. Three games no more

Streets of Montevideo which are quite similar as I understand it. You can take the boy out of the streets but not the streets out of the boy seemingly.

I'm waiting for the culture card to be played - In Uruguay it's common place to bite someone if they annoy you while calling them a n***** and stamping on an opponent is a sign of respect!

Get over yourself I was responding to what I thought was a humourous comment from you in a similar jocular manner.

Luis Suarez

 I don't think he was mugging you off there mate

I found it one of the funniest things I've ever seen, it was like something a slightly backward child would do when panicked but just didn't expect to see it on the pitch. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone on Talksport or similar try to justify it.

Luis Suarez

I am just confused now. Will butt out.

Luis Suarez

Can we leave this post like the Ronnie Biggs one? Only post when he's... Doh.

Do you get hyenas in rainforests?

Luis Suarez

Google says: Spotted hyenas are found in grasslands, woodlands, savannas, subdeserts, forest edges and mountains.

Is it me or has this whole incident been completely blown out of proportion?

Seriously, I know what he did was really nasty and absolutely mental but if you compare it to Sidwell's tackle on the Arsenal player on Saturday, I know which one i think is worthy of a longer ban......

:imwith:
Or the 'challenge' on Diagouraga at Hartelpool :thetruth:

Luis Suarez

Whilst it has grown alarmingly the thought that crossed my mind was that in football great care is taken in the event of blood. Should a player bite someone and break the skin then there is every reason to worry

Just look at the protection staff take at your local A and E to appreciate the potential problems

Whether considered amusing by some or not this is his second time and quite frankly has to be considered totally unacceptable behaviour. Would expect a significant ban and if not worry that it will give out all the wrong signals

Luis Suarez

The Dutch FA gave him a seven match ban for it.

So that's the starting tariff. Overlay the fact it's a repeat offence (albeit a different FA) and add a couple of games on for his overall disciplinary record and I think it's going to be nudging the 12 game mark.

Luis Suarez

When you consider the ban the fa dished out to Barton for repeat offences. Suarez can expect a lengthy ban.

I would think that would be the bench mark. What have they got left this season, four or five and the rest starting next season off.

Luis Suarez

Can't post picture but great photos going around showing Evra biting into a false arm with blood over it, hate United but quality........

ha ha is that true or doctored? Brilliant if its true! Chewy Suarez will be furious.

Luis Suarez

So Liverpool will not get rid of him, if he was a lessor squad player they would get rid off at a shot, sure they are not going to get rid of one of the most valuable strikers around but lets not kid ourselves they are taking the moral high ground as Rodgers would like us to believe.

As he has previous then will be more than 7 games and given rest of indiscretions could well be a Cantona length ban - was that 8 months? I think more likely to be a 12 match ban

True, someone threw it on pitch during lap of honour. Good work Yernited

Luis Suarez

Shows what a joke the FA really are. Should've been 5 at most.

Why? He got 7 games last time he did it in Holland. Its quite a severe sentence but I wouldn't say unwarranted

Luis Suarez

Very silly offence but an even sillier length of ban.

If the ref had seen it and sent him off it would have been a three game ban and that's what it should be now.

He was unlikely to have put Ivanovich out of the game for a lengthy period by biting him. Compared with 3 match bans for some tackles one sees it is a joke.

Luis Suarez

He got eight for racist abuse. Should have been seven tops.

Luis Suarez

I hope he appeals and gets 15 games ..the guy is a disgrace my 2 year old knows not to bite.

Luis Suarez

Agree with this. When you consider what Luiz got away with or his assualt on Reeves would could potentially have had far more severe consequences and because the referee "saw" the incident he got away with a yellow card.

What Suarez did was totally unacceptable and unjustifiable but given some of the joke decisions from the FA of late so is their decision making process.

Luis Suarez

I was expecting 5 game ban but trying to predict what comes out from the FA these days is impossible.

Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez could eat an apple through a letterbox with those teeth.

Luis Suarez

Justice he continues to misbehave. What sort example if he setting one thing after another. He punched someone while playing international football not long ago. The fact he probably gets 60-80K a week is a insult to hard working people. He is in a position where he earns a shed load doing something millions would love to do.

Luis Suarez

I'd rather be bitten then chopped down at the knees.. .if suarez wants to win anything he needs to leave anyway

Luis Suarez

Didn't Ben Thatcher get less for his assault on Pedro Mendes?

The FA make it up as they go along.

Luis Suarez

That'll be him off in the summer then I imagine.

What's worse? Racially abusing a player? Or having a little bite of a player? Obviously, the FA thinks biting is worse than racially abusing a fellow sportsman. And they are saying they're coming down hard on racists? Yeah, of course they are. They're just a useless bunch of spineless nobodies that have no idea of the sport or what is happening in real life.

Tony Craig got a 3 match ban for being hauled to the ground by a fellow cheating professional. The fellow footballer got nothing. The FA need to look at how they want to go forward with discipline and being fair to every footballer.

Suarez should've been banned for 3-6 months, not games, for racial abuse. Then a 10 game ban would've been appropriate for this instance of biting.

Don't entirely disagree that racial abuse and career ending/threatening tackles clearly warrant stronger action but the FA were aware that he had already had a long ban for biting previously and I don't think they should be criticised for trying to send a message to him that repeating this unusual means of foul play is unacceptable.

It would have looked pretty strange (to me at least) if he had received a shorter ban this time for biting than he did the first time he did it irrespective of whether it wasn't in the UK. UEFA do look out for consistency of approach across Europe I think.

At the end of the day I think we can all agree that Suarez is a cheating lowlife who deserves any punishment the FA care to dish out to him. Even if it does stuff up my fantasy league chances !

I think this ban is lengthier than the racial abuse ban, because of his previous ban. A bit like when a player gets sent off for a second time in a season he gets an extra game ban on top of the original offence. Well thats my guess anyway.

Was angered me most was the governments press release interfering in business which is no concern of theirs. As a consequence I await to hear a statement from No 10 about little Billy tripping up little Bobby before kicking him in the youknowwhats in a school playground today.

Agreed, on the last bit, but the FA have no real idea of what needs to be done. You punch, head butt, break a leg etc of a player and the FA dishes out 3,4,5 game ban, as the referee has seen it, but because the referee didn't see the incident, the FA can then punish how they seem fit, which is wrong IMO. The FA are scared, or unwilling, to undermine their officials.

I'm sure the FA just grab a numbered ball out of a velvet bag and whatever number comes out is the number of games that player is banned for. The FA officials can then all go for an early lunch and drink up...... :grey:

Luis Suarez

Biting a fellow professional in the course of one's work is tantamount to common assault. Suarez can consider himself lucky not to be up on a charge and facing a prison sentence.
