Your fans were magnificent yesterday and I wish you all the best in a speedy retun to League football.

Due to previous mismanagement we too are not in a healthy financial position but have terrific people steering the ship at last and a gem of a man called Matthew Benham who has allowed to look ahead for now.

We are going to enjoy "our time" but not everyone was laughing in your faces yesterday.

Actually we weren`t hanging around waiting for Mick and the Lads, it was purely to hurl some abuse at the FL **** presenting your trophy, we applauded your guys on to the field when they came out for the presentation, which your lads noticed and reciprocated, something none of your fans did a few years back, save for about 3 who stayed behind.

The season tickets that I have purchased for the past 15 years and 25 quid standing order to BU suggests that I have put my hand in my pocket. Have you not seen the championship today nearly every other promoted teams fans were on the pitch so Brentford fans on the pitch after the game was the norm not the exception.

However I will agree that people should have stayed off the pitch after the trophy was presented and the stewards should have been better prepared to stop the second invasion occurring.

Enough of the moaning and groaning bad things happen to god people so get over it people.

Indeed (and thankfully) not. I travelled down with some Luton supporting friends of mine from my local and they had a a good and friendly reception from Bees fans before and after the game in the pub. In fact they were treated with the same respect and courtesy that I get from wearing my Bees top (as opposed to a Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool etc) around this town. Someone earlier in the thread tried to make out that the majority of Bees fans hated Luton based on the opinions voiced in this thread, you have to remember that this board is not representative of any kind of majority and in fact tends to just represent those who should the loudest.

I was drinking with 5/6 luton fans in the oak on saturday and if it was not for the heros of brentford eg abee and the rest we could possibly be in the same position

As for the fans I could never forgive them for 2 years ago and as a fan base have got no time for them but as a club they have had to deal with a load of **** and these guys asked me what would I do if it was brentford in that position
I told him with the guys behind us and the team on the way to championship in 1 year I dont have to think about it

2nd time was unnecessary, although I went on after it had already been ruined (call me hypocritical but the parade had already been ruined).

That said it's completely OTT people saying they've have had their whole day ruined by not getting a good view of the players parading the trophy...

My anger at the knobs who invaded the pitch and prevented the planned lap of honour and the players acknowledging all the fans has subsided since Saturday.

I was sat high in the Gods of the Bramaer Road in sponsors seats that I'd paid for so had a great view of the game and the farce that followed that the whole day had been geared up for. Had I been in the New Road where I have supported from for the last 40 years I would have been well hacked off if all I got was a view of the back of the players as they bounced up and down on the podium.

Why would any "real fan" just enjoying the moment and joining in the celebrations think it ok to headbutt a steward, jump on an injured players back, rip another players medal from around his neck, or start kicking at a police horse?

Whichever way you dice it or look for mitigating circumstances to justify your selfish behaviour you can't. Trust me you soured the day for the players and club officials as well so it wasn't OK!

The poor bloke was in tears as that was the day when you went down. I really felt for him, as this so easily could have been us. No, absolutely the opposite. Did I say rugby was a better sport? No. I said Rugby was taught at private schools, which obviously have pupils from more upper class families. Football is played at state schools, where there are poorer students, and where all the yobs come from. Before anyone jumps on me, I am saying all yobs are state school alumni, not the other way round.

There was no need to go on the pitch no one was genuinely that emotional. We won the league the week before there was no final day drama it wasn't like the The Great Escape or the Reading game. People were on the pitch just becuase everyone else around the country did but clubs like Preston or Wycombe would be overjoyed with the success of the DAY. They had a reason to go on the pitch. Our day was very relaxed and emotions weren't bubbling over. Had we needed to beat Luton to get promotion and had then a pitch invasion would have been appropriate given the circumstances.

I am totally with you on this but I suspect that the "younger generation" have an entirely different view about authority figures and requests to behave and are totally self-absorbed and concerned only about their own self-gratification and do not give a toss for the interests and needs of others

You make some salient points.

I already expected a pitch invasion on the sound of the final whistle, and some confrontation with the away end, and was not disappointed on this front.

Had hoped though that the players would have been able to complete a lap of honour for us at the back of Ealing Road and in New Road to be able to see the trophy and show appreciation for the players.

It did leave a very slightly disappointing end to the day after the excellent atmosphere and celebration that had pre-empted it during the game.

Some good points but not entirely fair either. The sad thing was imho is that after the first pitch invasion those that had wanted to do that had their moment and shoud have let the players and those that wished to remain in their seat/terrace spot have theirs. That way everyone would have had a good day. That is not much to ask and you cannot question how people live their life outside of football just for expecting to be able to see their team parade the trophy. For those that couldn't be at Darlington that was their chance and you cannot get that moment back. Its not about prawn sandwiches and gentlemanly handshakes - just as pitch invasions are customary so are lap of honour's just a shame we didn't have one of each and it would have been a fantastic day without detraction in my book.

As for the person(s) who jumped Charlie/Jordan they are beneath contempt and should have got a kicking.
