Managerial Changes 2014/15

Don't know why he left Norwich in the first place...villa job is a hiding to nothing! Big club history and attitude with small club budgets!

He fell out with the board.
Understandably saw Villa as a bigger opportunity.
Seems as if he fell out with some of his better players at Villa.

Rosler one of the bookies favourites for Barnsley job....can see that happening

That's not strictly true - regarding Norwich!

I believe he did see Villa as being a bigger job...but I still don't understand why given that it has been clear for years that Villa managers don't get supported with player budgets, whilst Norwich were supporting Lambert and making more money available year on year, without the same level of expectation as at Villa.

Dean Holdsworth has said he would welcome an approach from managerless Newport County...

Tim Sherwood the new Aston Villa manager.

Would they have him back?

Is that a massive step up?

Much as I hate to admit it, they get bigger crowds, have a bigger budget and, based on the last decade, are a bigger club.

I'd like to think he will see through what he's started at Oldham. Or at least wait for a better opportunity than Barnsley.

Personally, reckon he should at least see how this season pans out. If he gets Oldham into the play-offs, his stock will have risen considerably.

J hear Brentford will be looking for a new manager (sorry head coach).

Managerial Changes 2014/15

I know he's going in the summer, but with Whiskey Nose jnr getting the old tin tack Warbs moves up one more place in the longest serving managers.

What does Malky Mackay say to Dave Whelan by way of an explanation?

Managerial Changes 2014/15

be funny if they lose that though!

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Lee Johnson set to leave Oldham to join Barnsley and take the managers role.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Keith Hill better watch out - no doubt Johnson has his eye on the top job there :nono:

Mmm, is he that good?

Maybe a chance for Uwe to get into a club on his doorstep?

Or are Oldham too small for him? It's a perfect fit for him to work his way back into management. Just be ready for the niceties in front of the camera and the rollickings he gives to players behind the scenes!

I think Rosler would be looking for a bigger salary than Oldham could offer. He would probably not get the budget he would want either there.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

I hoped Lee Johnson would stay at Oldham, he's doing good work there and his stock is rising. It's more likely to stumble if he joins a team with higher pressure given he's still fairly flying under the radar. As someone pointed out above, if he got Oldham to the playoffs after a couple of years of building it shows he is doing good work. We shall see...

I'm not convinced Uwe's stock is that high, given how Brentford have moved on since he departed. He can wait for a bigger club, but are a bigger club going to turn to him?

If he'd gone up a division I'd feel ok about it.

As it is I feel like my wife's just left me for a Yorkshireman who works a grade above me in the same company.

If it makes you feel any better from an outsider, it's not that bad..his record is 30 odd % win rate, hopefully his dad will now apply for the job..

There's a lot of good options out there.

Cheap in-house option then.

I'm told that 25/1 on Danny Wilson to be the next Oldham manager may provide you with good value.

Not a done deal, but on the cards.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Reckon you could do a lot worse mate?

He knows his way around. I have two concerns:

1. He's usually had bigger playing budgets.
2. He likes Ched Evans.
