Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Derek MacInnes turns down Rangers. Rangers has a girly flounce.

I recommend Tony Pulis. His exciting brand of football will have the Rangers fans on the edge of their seats screaming for more. Or maybe just screaming.

I always remember Leroy Rosenior stating he wanted to play a brand of football that would get Brentford fans off their seats. He certainly achieved that

IMO had the right ideas but the wrong team/budget.

Where's Arry when you need him? He could fly from Bournemouth to Glasgow every day, paid for by Rangers, of course.

You always seem to think hes finally showed his face for the last time and then some deluded owner goes out of their way to offer him 50million for transfers and wages.

Tad arrogant statement by Rangers. I guess they are trying to deflect from the fact he probably turned them down as they are a basket case of a club that no up and coming Manager would want to manage.

I recommend Jimi Hendrix. He’s experienced.

Could it be a Ian Holloway, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank double this weekend?
JFH's Northampton Town lost 5-1 at Oldham and are now second bottom of Div One.

Cotterill from Birmingham has got to happen soon

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

So it could be goodbye to that nice Mr. Holloway maybe our fans got the chant in a few week early

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Err, seems a pretty okay thread to me.

Barnet have won one of their last 15 league games.
I remember when Mark McGhee was once a promising manager, got Reading promoted from the third tier around about '94.
Will they call Mad Dog for a fifth stint?

McGhee only been in charge of 2 of those. He will get a little longer surely?

They said at the time that the lucky comeback against us will probably only buy him a couple of extra weeks...............

Northampton were woeful.

Biggest home league win since 2007.

Pleased to see that both Moyes and Hodgson are both looking like good appointments. Mark Hughes, however, will probably be out of work by the new year.

How much longer has Cotterill got?

Think the natives are going to get restless down in Bournemouth, they got taught a lesson today so Eddie Howe is a guy under presuure

They'd be beyond mad to consider sacking him, if ever a manager is over achieving its him.

Their goal is remaining in the Premiership, plain and simple. To that end, it's games against the lower table sides that really count.
If 'Muff start rolling over when the play the likes of Swansea, Brighton, Stoke, then Howe might be under pressure.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

There are many more worse managers than him!

Not sure what he's done previously for Brum owners to seriously believe he was likely to take them towards the top of The Championship? He must interview well.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Didn’t he assist Harry for half a dozen games at the end of last season? I think that once they realised that Harry was an old fraud, they reckoned it must have been Cotterill rather than sheer fortune that saved them from relegation last season.

He might be under pressure, depends on the Owner(s).

But they'd do well to look to the example of Burnley, where Sean Dyche's initial promotion to the Prem counted for more than his subsequent relegation, so that they stuck by him and gave him the chance to go again.

Wise move indeed, imo.

No it was Huddersfield playing a reserve team against them that saved them. Even the Brum fans say this on their own forum.

Yes, that was sort of covered in the ‘sheer fortune’ bit of the post.

I was just speculating about the rationale that the idiots in charge of Birmingham used in appointing Cotterill.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

I think Cotterill just sold himself well...said he knew what was needed and knew what was about. Probably sounded more convincing than other people by sounding straight up so gave him the job.

It won't last long...if they bring in the right man they can turn it around given they're only a couple of points from safety. But awful runs under 3 successive managers....the problems run deep...

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Would luv to see brum go down. Theyve been incredibly lucky on more than 1 occasion not to get relegated in recent seasons. About time their luck ran out.

I will be amazed if they don't take action quickly with a new mgr though as they are only going 1 way with Cotterill and that must be clear to all.

They had a really good Manager, in Gary Rowett. No sympathy for them

Pretty sure Paul Clement will be next.
Seven league fixtures in the month of December. I reckon at some point during the month, the Swansea board will come to the conclusion that they are unlikely to avoid relegation unless a change is made.

And he's gone.

The owners got it horribly wrong, Rowett turned a terrible team who stayed up by the skin of their teeth into a horrible, strong side who were difficult to beat.
The new owners wanted a team that played attractive, winning football and thought a change of Managers would achieve that.
Shows how uneducated and dangerous to have owners with money but no knowledge of the beautiful game.
Employing Cotterill was like employing a sub standard Rowett, someone who plays basic, strong arm, unattractive football but unsucccessfully!

Step up Tony Pulis

I'm not sure that makes you psychic ;)

However I think they're going down either way. They're the same team almost but minus their talisman...and that barely kept them up last time. I just can't see how it will work.

Pulls may come in, but my god it's been a departure from how they were run previously since the new owners have come in.
