As I recall, JFH left Burton at the top of league one to go to QPR, Clough returned there after failing at Derby and it was he that nearly screwed it up near the end, but they just got over the line.

Really strange decision to keep him in the job once everyone knew he was going, caretaker manager would have been far more sensible.
MM annoyed me a couple of seasons ago re the defence of Hyam but over the years, he's an honest, blunt but likeable Yorkshireman who I think did a good job at Ipswich with limited resources.
Sure he'll find another job nearer to his roots before too long.

Fairly accurate I would think, and who can blame him, working with very limited resources. Presumably that moves DS up to second in the longest serving "manager" list in the Championship.

Some years ago, my wife was at a dinner where he was guest of honour/speaker. She sat next to him and found him likable and charming. Since then, I've always had a high opinion of him.
