Terrible career move. The most they can hope for is 2nd and he won't get praised for achieving it because most Rangers fans would see that as the minimum standard. Anything else therefore is failure and even if he did achieve it, he'd still get slaughtered if they get spanked by Celtic along the way. Absolute hiding to nothing.

Seems like a lose/lose situation for him, but I suppose it will give him managerial experience plus a big pay off.

The club is in a complete mess with everyone pulling in different directions.

Derek McInnes, it would have been his dream job as both a former player and fan,

yet he turned it down because of the behind the scenes situation.
