There have been times in the past 60 odd years of watching Brentford that I could have made a damn good case for doing so: generally under the Trades Descriotion Act!!!!!

Utter madness. As a local, I was getting increasingly concerned that Leeds were beginning to develop a sensible and sustainable set up. They are buying young players to develop in their u23 set up. Their scouting is moving further afield and unearthing the odd gem like Saiz. They are even starting to try new innovations (eg the set-piece coach). All familiar things to us.
After a poor run of results I was happy to read their fans were getting restless and many wanted the manager out.
With luck they will rip up the progress they were making and revert to "big club" type by appointing a football man (ie a dinosaur) and spend money they don't have - only to sack their man in 6 months. Might I suggest Harry Redknapp as the perfect man for the job?!

Steve McLaren in the directors box at Leeds on Saturday. So I think what you describe is exactly what they are going to do.

......its all short term for the clubs with huge overheads.....we know who they are in our league....we sneaked in to the members bar in the ground at Derby saturday.....lots of money in there....the expectation for promotion was all around us...the patrons were local businessmen very well healed....the spin offs from being in the premiership are really important for places like Derby,Leeds,Birmingham etc.....these clubs are running at a loss....too many seasons in the championship equates to financial ruin......they really all want to get to the promised land tomorrow....thats what their short term business models demand....the manager at leeds had no chance....if Rowett fails to get Derby up he'll be gone too.....theres a re-occurring pattern emerging at certain clubs.

Barnsley fan Paul Heckingbottom set to take the job at Leeds, despite saying two months ago he hates Leeds (tbf don’t we all).

Why? Maybe he is happy at Barnsley. But maybe he is going to be offered 4 times his salary to move to Leeds.

I can't see it, they need a big name who the Galacticos respect and will listen to. They don't need a manager who is responsible for all aspects from kids through to first team, they need a coach who can win them the Premier League and get them into Champions League semi finals as a minimum.

If they were thinking of making a change wouldnt it have been better to do it in January?

You would have thought so. The Barnsley Chairman is complaining that they signed all the players that he wanted and gave him a new contract, then he left.

Hopefully the bounce will be over by the time we play them.

I see Danny Cowley has been linked with the Barnsley position.

Interesting to see his progression over the years, taking Concord Rangers up three tiers and on to Braintree for a year where he took them to Conference Play-Off as (I believe) a part time team. Really made his name in Lincoln's Cup run last year. Having got them back into the Football League they sit two points outside the League 2 play-offs.

If we were looking for a Manager outside the club, I suspect his name would have come up in discussion.
