Rumours that McClaren has been sacked

From what i saw against Brighton I'm not surprised. They were dire, i thought derby would have learnt there lesson last time around

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Field is opening quite nicely for a certain person previuosly employed in Glasgow

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

This should be the end of the road for the managerial career of Mr McClaren. Nice guy but pretty poor manager.

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

he made himself a bit of a tit with Chris Martin..

This is as much about Derby's owner as McClaren who has parted with five managers in leas than two years.

If the owner had any patience at all McClaren could build them into a winning side.

Paul Clement didn't want to do things the Derby way and was swiftly moved on and yet seems to be doing fine for Swansea. Like you I suspect it may not be all the managers who aren't the right fit?

I reckon McClaren is probably evens with the bookies to be next Derby manager.

Paul Lambert could be the next Championship manage to fall

Wigan are well desperate to stay up, can't see them even with a new manager coming in, what a joke club..

13 championship managers survive from starting the season!

Those at; Brighton, Newcastle, Huddersfield, Reading, Fulham, Sheffield Weds, Leeds, Brentford, Barnsley, Burton, Ipswich, Bristol City and Preston.

12 championship managers sacked from their jobs this season - two at Wigan. Rotherham had two as well but Jackett walked.....Derby two, was Pearson sacked?

They brought McCaren back as they realised he fitted with them well, and better than what they had brought in since. They were doing well but fell away recently, is that enough to sack him? I know Friday's 3-0 loss was fairly comprehensive but many teams fall at Brighton by similar margins.

Clement they said was only in it for himself and was using the club as a stepping stone (sounds familiar....) and they were probably right, but they were also doing well. They need to reaffirm their idea of their long term plan though, because it seems it's getting less clear, even for them.

Of the managers on that list I'm surprised how Reading have done as I thought that Stam would go the way of many other "name" managers that clueless foreign owners have brought in i.e. Zenga. Think I would be surprised if Ipswich finish this season and start next season with the same manager

Just wondered, seeing as they tweeted virtually the same thing about an hour before you posted it here.

Sorry to disappoint you. I am a twitter-free zone.

Most of which are in the top half of the table. Says something about continuity.

Yet the media will still call us a "sacking club." Sky were saying the other day that Norwich was shocking as there not a sacking club. Take out Worthington, Lambert and Neill and the average time there since the millenium must be under a season.

See Warnock feels he will always have a job because a lot of managers in the Championship are not very good and he is. Tad arrogant even for him....

Quite accurate though I would say. He does a good job wherever he goes, but he's not someone I would ever want at BFC.

Sheffield Wednesday are hitting a bit of a rocky patch, and if they don't make the play offs he'll be gone.

McCarthy and Johnson will also be gone either before the season is over or in the Summer.

I'd say he is pretty good at what he does but a bit like Big Fat Sam now has a reputation as a bit of a Red Adair of the footballing world.

Definitely not one I would want at GP or LR in the future

Started asking myself - which would I choose to rescure Bees if they were in trouble: Pulis, Warnock or Allardyce? Can't decide.

Well if they are the only 3 options then might as well lock the doors and turn off the lights as can't find a redeeming feature in any of them

I would go for pulis, his teams are abit negative sometimes but he's resourcefull and seems less of a dick on a personal level than the other candidates
