So what if they went down?
Good question.

But if they don't need to go down i.e. if a new manager can keep them up (stress both "ifs"), why shouldn't they try to avoid it?

Remember, too, that had Ranieri done OK this season, then got offered a job by a bigger club than Leicester on the strength of his title last season, then he'd have been off like a shot.

As it is, he's trousering a reported £3m pay-off, so that should surely soften the blow a tad.

They've gone down before and recovered like many others have....never seemed to bother the likes of Hull Sunderland or Newcastle ....had they stuck with him and gone down it needn't have been terminal.
Many have gone down and come back up again soon after, but many more haven't eg Ipswich, Forest, Leeds etc. And you can't say they weren't "bothered" - at least if the number of times relegated clubs sack their manager is anything to go by.

and a few have had to go lower than The Championship before they started climbing again, eg Swansea, Man City, was going to say Wolves but they have stalled at the Championship

Can't see our mate Karl lasting much longer at Charlton.
No win in 8 and heading for L2 at this rate...

Thought he would have done well there, but seems to be a sinking ship similar to Coventry.

Sounds like it's either him or the squad as he's publically castigated them twice now.

funny how he was given 2 games, then they sacked him a few days later..

The games were Tiddly Winks and Snakes & Ladders, he lost both and was shown the door

Lee Johnson is a deadman talking bolloxs, saying the return of Tammy Abraham is like a new signing, they've had him all ****ing season but with him playing in your last 16 games you only won 2 of those games, classcock..

Odd time to sack your manager isnt it?

How disrupted will their prep be for tomorrows game?

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

If he did do you think The Trees will be looking for another DoF ?

After forest fans were so complimentary i wouldnt wish another shambolic situation on them such as losing their new dof after a week but little Frank seems part of the Warburton package

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Just pleased Neil got sacked after they sold us Canos, because another manager may not have been so stupid.

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Unless Neil got another offer somewhere else and he needed to negotiate a release package urgently? Though he must have missed the boat with Rangers.

There's a vacancy at Al-Gharafa...

Discussing him today with a mate I have dipped into their forum their fans reckon he will still be there even if they go down. The owner is a great friend of his family evidently. He come across as a complete knob

he did the same with his rugby team, he is useless at getting in good managers..

I sort-of doubt it was much to do with Neil. I'd guess there was a decision to reduce the player headcount, fringe players were listed and touted around; it would only be players on that list that attracted attention and Sergi was one of those. Anyway, he's now where he's wanted and he wants to be and Neil is on his holidays.

The point I'm making is that if Neil hadn't been so blinkered and had given Canos a decent chance in the first team then he wouldn't have been a fringe player in the first place, and hence wouldn't have been part of headcount reduction. Or are you saying Neil didn't have anything to do with first team selection?

Of course not... but, even now, they currently have a first-team squad of 28 and are spending too much money. That doesn't leave many opportunities for U-21's with their midfield list, whereas we had gaping holes.

Which begs the question of why the spent money on him 6 months earlier.

Where is a member of the Norwich board to answer these questions?

Alan Pardew rumoured to be favourite for Norwich job (according to 5Live's Pat Murphy).
