Madness sacking managers that early. (yes i know we did it last season)

I think Bruce...

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Villa need to show that they have ambition and signing a local lad who has no track record at this level and whose claim to fame is getting his teams to play decent football on a shoestring budget hardly seems likely to be an attractive proposition for a Chinese investor looking to go straight back to the biggest league on the planet.

I'm lumping on Steve Evans for the Villa job.

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Is Bruce not in with a chance of the England job?

Please God no, actually you know what I don't really care. He's a big old pudding but cares and we'll never win a major tournament in my lifetime again regardless of who we appoint.

Too likely to get them playing with passion and achieve a top half finish; they need some old has been that's not up to the job to allow them to continue to under perform.

no chance - Bruce is a good call..

Why no chance?
Allardyce will want to manage a big club, I don't see any openings to match that at Villa.
I can't see him working for Cellino at Leeds.

Do you think anyone in the English top two divisions will seriously consider offering Allardyce at this time with the media circus that will follow?

Sam wouldn't get a job right now, I saw that he may even get a ban.. tbh that's pretty good chance of him not getting that job..

I can see a Villa or Derby take a punt on him as he could be their best chance to get promoted. Given the £££ involved they might take a punt on him even with his baggage. Some might see his " indiscretions " as not so bad.

Really? Not this soon and would any club want to be under such scrutiny in the eye of a media storm?

The owners urgently want a return to the Premiership. You see the crazy sums being spent in the Championship? That's how bad they want it.
I saw Mick McCarthy's name mentioned in connection with the Villa job. Would you seriously choose McCarthy ahead of Allardyce? I did also see mention of the possibility of a ban, and that may scupper a quick return to management, we just don't know at this stage, though my guess is Allardyce would appeal against such a punishment.

Thank Christ we're not a big club if the likes of McCarthy, Bruce and Allardyce are what we'd have to look forward to.

Newport, Swansea, Cardiff. Welsh are a bit trigger happy. No doubt Giggs will be mentioned.

Someone is obviously trawling the "managers out of work" list.
No mention of Curbishley?

Didn't he play a short time for them?

Big Ron ?

Steve Cotterill, that would be the most ludicrous I've read yet! Anyone seen his track record, hardly Premier League credentials

Very strange. Could be his agent trying to put him in the frame.

Did they mention Keith Hill? Less of a mental choice than Cotterill.

I was gonna write "he'll never leave Barnsley" but I am now so confused by the GPG gag that my mind cant decide if he is actually at Barnsley, Rochadale or somewhere else!!

Just have to laugh at the state of some of these clubs that have been bought by owners from outside these shores who know little about the game bar the potential money from the PL.

Cardiff, Orient, Sheffield U, Birmingham, Blackburn, Fulham, Leeds, QPR, Forest, Charlton etc etc

lol

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Glenn Hoddle will surely appear on a list. Funny how so many pundits mention Hoddle but he never gets a job.

I think foreign ownership is so wide spread that you can't use it as a reason for those clubs failure. Plenty of success stories too and of the ones you've listed a few were in the doldrums before they were bought by current owners.
