Mark Flekken (Closed Thread)
Clearly his confidence has taken a knock but Flekken's long passing ability is going to be way more important to us now Toney is back. Wissa and Maupay are never going to win many headers competing against defenders.
No mention of the player then that not once, but twice, couldn't clear the ball in the first place?Flekken is a joke
Sad little man. Let's get at keeper, practically in off the post no chance. And terrible from Janelt.Flekken is a joke
Your post is a joke.Flekken is a joke
Some data for you my friendNo mention of the player then that not once, but twice, couldn't clear the ball in the first place?
IF. YOU. CANT. SAVE. IT. WHY. DIVE?????Janelt at fault. However, not impressed with the ball watching from Flekken.

I think your brain may be broke if you think there was any chance of him saving thatDo me a favour. You don't know unless you try ffs. He a goalkeeper. It wasn't miles away from him either.
I think you're keyboard is broke.
What are those stats meant to say/prove?Some data for you my friend
OK. Mrs Flekken.I think your brain may be broke if you think there was any chance of him saving that
I suppose he is the easy target though, even though somebody else made a complete cock up and he did nothing wrong ?OK. Mrs Flekken.
Let's get behind in the stadium
Janelt was the main issue without doubt. However, you expect your goalkeeper to make an attempt. It's not the first time this season. If you don't try you can save it.What are those stats meant to say/prove?
Janelt miskicked the first attempt and skied it upwards for the second attempt of clearing and gave the ball away when we've yet to have any meaningful possession.
He gifted them the ball back, at our end of the pitch, with his poor clearance.
What is the right position then, if he favoured that side and it went in the other corner you would be blaming him for that tooSomehow he’s never in the right position to keep it out but never at fault…
Janelt was horrific. Not an easy target, there has been a lot of occasions like that from Flekken. That's why it's split 50/50 on his performances.I suppose he is the easy target though, even though somebody else made a complete cock up and he did nothing wrong ?
I think that shot caught everyone of guard, it was wel hit and right in on the post.Janelt was the main issue without doubt. However, you expect your goalkeeper to make an attempt. It's not the first time this season. If you don't try you can save it.
Very good and fair assessment. Found myself shouting “come on Mark” almost willing him to commit. He’s still yet to settle, that much is clear. Not at fault for the goals at all, some of our “fans” are on a mission it seems.
One thing I would say is he doesn’t come for crosses or corners much, which clearly shows a lack of confidence. It’s been a tough season for him and he needs a couple of good games I think to regain confidence. He hasn’t yet won us a game.
He’s our keeper. So we want him to do well.Very good and fair assessment. Found some self shouting “come on Mark” almost willing him to commit. He’s still yet to settle, that much is clear.
He wasn’t at fault, but I can, I can, appreciate not understand but appreciate this frustration about him being flat footed
Watched on TV and that's exactly how I saw it.Bang behind that post for their first and could see it was in as soon as he hit it, Flekken had no chance. Couple times towards the end of the second half he could've claimed it but he had a good game
It gives me no pleasure to be confirming I agree with this. At PL level, you hope to see some saves that the keeper has no right to make, but that won’t happen whilst a keeper is rooted to the spot, and I’m seeing that way too often with Mark. I’m sure the coaches are as aware as us lot are, and hope they can work with him to bring his best out.Of course every Bees fan wants Flekken do do well. But, imo, he does not inspire confidence, he does not come for crosses, his positioning is somtimes poor and he punches rather than catches
He must also be the most static goalkeeper I have seen in the PL.
Pretty much every goal conceded he remains completely rooted to the turf.
I really think we need better....
Absolutely. I'd hate us to play our style with Turner in goal. Absolute dog sh*t with his feet and not much better in any other aspect.Didn't he make a decent stop in the second half, too?
He does look static at times, but can't deny he has very good distribution. Turner showed what the opposite side of the coin looks like for Forest tonight.
Set the ball in motion for the winner.Didn't he make a decent stop in the second half, too?

Which punch in particular tonight should he have caught??Flekken is so iffy, the man loves to punch a catchable ball? Make it make sense, uneeded pressure it brings. Also loves to ball watch it go past…..
Which punch in particular tonight should he have caught??
Do you mean the one that he dived out almost full length to punch clear? The one in the first half that he punched out that caused panic which resulted In a forest player going down luckily. Unbelievable he punched that ball we got lucky. Can’t remember the minute but clear as day poor punching it… It’s his play-style to punch instead of catching which isn’t good enough. Not just tonight it’s the whole season
Do you mean the one that he dived out almost full length to punch clear?
Must have passed me by then that one. Maybe I'd gone for a piss. ??Nope not that one? I meant the one where he clearly should have caught the ball?

I agree his tendency is to punch which is fine if it's effective, and I get that some people just don't like it, but I just don't see enough genuine errors to warrant the pile on after every game - including wins where he cost us nothing at all.
How busy is Vitaly's thread after that first goal?
