"McCammon to watch the action unfold from a corporate box"?

His memories of GP must be a bit hazy.

No they are sticking him in the Big B radio shack and giving him a Tesco's Value Cheese Sarnie.... Fully commensurate with the skills he displayed on the pitch for us.

They always said the Lord loves a trier and boy was dear old Super Market Trolley trying at times (still haunted by that miss at the pooper scoopers).

Plus the Millennium Stadium miss :mad2:

Mark McCammon

Not surprised Donny lost at Cheltenham with that oaf playing for them.
One of Brentford worst players EVER.

Mark McCammon

How did that prat get a ticket when real supporters will miss out !

The only real supporters missing out are ones who decided to wait and see before buying a ticket even though it was likely to be a match which at the worst would have been one we needed to win to make the play-offs. Corporate hospitality tickets like his were on sale until last week.

Or couldn't afford to buy one, there are real fans who are not going on saturday. You may not always be able to afford things in advance and it might bite you on the arse in the future.

But McCammon isn't depriving any of them of a ticket - whether he or anyone else gets to the match, true Bee or otherwise, makes no odds to the fan who can't afford to go. Doesn't stop the Trolley being a massive waste of air.

Mark McCammon

I don't believe there's one person that can't afford or can't lay their hands on £19.50

Mark McCammon

qpr and port vale misses worst ever

Don't I can picture both now, the QPR one was actually harder to miss once he met it if it went forward and not up. What a useless lump he was, remember the goal that never was against us for Donny that summed up his form at GP. lol

Mark McCammon

Backing Donny to beat us lets hope he's as good at predictions as he was in front of goal............... ******!!!!

He probably argued with himself before reaching a decision. He's got a chip the size of Inces on his shoulders, fell out with Managers and team mates at most clubs. He's become a football leper with Donny the only colony who seem prepared to accept him.

Mark McCammon

That goal when it went through the net and the ref never gave it.

I've never laughed so much at football before or since.

He was standing on the half way line with his head in his
knees like John Cleese apoplectic that no one had realised it had gone in and out- so funny. lol

In the age of credit cards, pay day loans, loan sharks and the fail safe of friends that could have subbed you 20........
Lack of finance should not be used by true fans for non attendance!!

Especially when there probably paying a tenner a month to be on here:)

So your saying folk should put themselves into more financial problems by getting a pay day loan etc.. have you seen interest rates?
I can't go because I'm working. My QPR supporting team leader said I couldn't have the time off as were short staffed.. on the other hand, with me being paid today for first time in 8 weeks since starting new job, if I could have gone, today would be the day I buy the ticket. Yes I could have asked a mate, but not all friends have £20 to spare. To some, £20 is a lot of money... and the options you supplied above, such as credit cards and pay day loans are not an option...

Mark McCammon

I also cannot believe any Brentford fan would miss this game for work

Thanks for this post. I am not working at the moment and am heavly in debt and could not get any money in advance. I ve being going to gp for 46 years first game v chelmsford fa cup 1966. If peoples attitude is your not a true fan if you can not afford to go with a family to support and bills to pay so be it. But one day those people will look back and realise how arrogant and condesending they sound. They can patronise if they want. This will be the first game ive missed at gp all season and in past seasons i have been a season ticket holder. I wonder these arrogant people have council tax, water biills, mortgage rent, travelling to and from games, and april is an expensive month. If our last of season game was a nothing game

I think we've moved away from the original points which were:
1. Mark McCammon is one of the worst players to have been at Brentford - possibly because he both promised much and was relied upon while delivering almost nothing of note (apart from, personally, the goal that beat Bournemouth on 9/2/02 - memorable for its rarity and for being on the same day that after seeing a home win I went to a party and hooked up with the now Mrs AB).
2. He combines this singularly disappointing lack of talent with the attitude of a big star and seems to have made few friends through his journeyman career. This is not to justify the discriminatory treatment he received on the basis of his colour, but the justifiable discrimination he received for being bobbins. Yet somehow he managed to play in an FA Cup final and the UEFA cup. So perhaps the big mouth did more for him than a modest increase in achievement in his role might have.
3. It sticks in the craw for someone like that to be attending a match which many genuine Bees in straitened financial circumstances would have liked to have gone to even though those fans couldn't attend regardless of whether useless parasites could afford it or not.

However, I can't see how anyone would realistically expect a player who was consistently booed when his name was read out before matches as being a sub to be at all supportive of the Bees. To be able to keep turning up to work when that was what you had to look forward to probably needed him to have developed John Terry-like levels of self-belief and arrogance.

Time to start practising this me thinks:

Not all supporters waited untill the outcome of the last match im sure , just unfortunate not to get a ticket for one reason or another.
But if that was aimed at me , don,t worry ive got a ticket for tomorrow. :D

Mark McCammon

pleased that he won..

Scally still has one more appeal, if he chooses to use it. For his and his odious club's sake I hope they just accept and pay up.

Hopefully it has cost them a small fortune in legal fees.

Know someone who had to sit on the committee for the FA dealing with that case.By all accounts Gillingham were totally out of order and some of the things that went on were a disgrace.Pleased for the outcome.

Mark McCammon

me too. not the greatest player ever to wear our colours but a very decent man and always gave 100%. often more. delighted.

I can guarentee you he never gave more than 100%!! Pleased for him though.

5 goals in 62 appearances?

I think they had every right to bin him.

Not impressive, I agree. However, there are right ways and wrong ways to go about things.

Scally and Gillingham have proved that they are wrong uns. :yuck:

Had a friend of mine who had to sit on the FA commission panel for this . They are quite senior at county level and the FA asked a number of people from different counties all over the UK to look at the case . A bit like a football ' jury' so to speak . Strangely enough he is a bees fan as well . He said the evidence and case was shocking and Gillingham were bang to rights . By all accounts Mark was totally within his rights to appeal and the vote was almost unanimous .

I've heard that Mark McCammon is an arrogant sod in real life, and we all know what an utterly awful player he was...

But this is pretty disgraceful... always knew that was a scummy club when Stimson didn't shake Andy Scott's hand!

Mark McCammon

Funniest moment was the 'goal' he did/didn't score for Doncaster at GP.

I agree and my mate who i have know for over 30 years has no reason to lie. By all accounts a number of FA county reps were reading the report and evidence from both sides and shaking their heads in disbelief as too how bad Gillingham had treated him. Regardless of what people thought of him as a player ( myself included ) no one has a right to be treated like that and it is pleasing to see he got the outcome he deserved.
