Think you've just won the week's Predictable Post Award there. Personally I think he's doing okay considering he must be knocking on the door of 40 by now.

:imwith: but a peculiar choice of thread for Smiffy to declare it.

Yes, one for chit chat I would think. But pleased for Smiffy. With his looks and culinary "skills", it's amazing he gets lucky at all ...

unless it was with Mr. McCammon...

"There are currently 8 users browsing this thread" according to the text below, all of whom are probably trying to delete some awful imagery from their minds right now! lol

AWFUL ?

It's a beautiful thing :moo:

...........the Trolley keeps-a-rolling.............

Mark McCammon

Without doubt the WORST player ever to appear in an FA Cup final......oh sorry i was forgetting Clive Goodyear, he could possibly run the trolley close, how many other future Bees or ex Bees have graced the Final ? can' t be many and they cant all be useless.

The old ones are always the best, and so so true.

It was that, or:

who?

Andy Gray (for Palace?) Wasn't he a Junior in the early 80s? We could do with a definitive book about the decade to tell us...

McCammon rerminds me of the glory days when we'd happily shell out c100K for a striker of such talent.

Have we not had any of his Millwall Cup Final teammates?

Ah yes......the glory days when Noades was spending our monies not his and nearly put us out of business. The 'glory days' were based upon Noades and his board racking up an unsustainable overdraft for what had been a 'debt free' Club/business until the overdraft reached £4.5m and with total debt at £7m from a standing start of zero and then telling us that we'd have to sell Griffin Park to pay back the bank.

I'm coming over all weepy with nostalgia.

Mark McCammon

how did we ever get approval for such a high OD limit or is that normal?

Mark McCammon

This is a subject that had me raging on the GPG many years ago. Barclays Bank marked an overdraft facility of £4.5m at the request of Noades. At that time the business was losing on average £1m per year and we had a turnover of less than £2.5m. Noades exit strategy was to sell Griffin Park our only significant asset. Those were the days when the banks were chucking money at anyone who asked but which ever way you shake it an overdraft limit of twice annual turnover and with a business losing a seven figure sum annually is shall we say hard to justify even during times of easy credit.

There now see what you've done. I'd just about got over it.

Mark McCammon

Hope my sarcasm was detected... The inclusion 'of that talent' was the key phrase.

Mark McCammon

Apologies for revisiting what I can see is a genuinely stressful subject. If I could ever be serious for a moment, I'd say Donaldson is a player of superior talent to Trolley AND cost c100K less in transfer fees.
I would then have to mention the fact we reportedly pay him 100k a week in wages though.

The Sunday Telegraph is reporting that Mark McCammon is claiming for race discrimination and unfair dismissal against Gillingham FC. The club have denied the allegations.

Interestind development to the hot topic of racism in football. Would be foolish to speculate til more facts are known.

Mark McCammon

I heard from a brentford player that used to be in the team with him that he was really arrogant and had a huge ego.

Can't say for sure, but it is far more likely that he was discriminated against on grounds of his utter cackness.

5 goals in 50 odd games suggests your right.

Mark McCammon

I will never forget the comment - can't remember who or where from - that pointed out that Mark McCammon's last goal for Brentford could have been scored by a bollard.

I think that sums him up pretty well...

Mark McCammon

Apparently he has been training with Lincoln City who want to sign him - but can't due to problems with his registration with Braintree Town, for whom he played 5 games.

Poor lad - everything is against him!

Mark McCammon

He scored for Lincoln on the weekend.

If these allegations are proved to be true then Gillingham should have the severest punishments possible for blatant racism.

If these allegations are found to be false then McCammon should be given the severest punishment possible for wasting peoples time and falsely claiming certain individuals are racist.

Whatever, the stakes are high.

Not everything is as clearcut as black and white

in court as claiming Gillingham racially discriminated against him...wonder if they will counter sue him for falsely claiming to be a footballer

There's a link to the full story above somewhere.

Amazingly, McCammon scored more goals for us than any of his other clubs. No matter what, I'll never forget when he broke his duck against Swindon in 2003 at the start of Wally's first year. Great scenes.

I remember being on the terrace when someone commented on him cutting through the opposition defence 'like a kipper through butter' so ungainly was the lad's movement.
