Can We Play You Every Week
Middlesex CCC 2017
Love The Oval.
It's a lot easier for me to get to The Oval than Lord's, or any other Middlesex ground.
Love The Oval.
Love Lords.
Seems strange that when that end was re-developed that they put more or less exactly the same as what was there before it.
Much like the away end at GP.
Allegedly will be redeveloped after the 2019 World cup

................had decent victories against Kent and Essex..........no Malan,McCullum,Toby, Stirling or Finn.............team looked lightweight this evening.............***** again.

That's half a side missing and you can add Southee to that too.
How did Barber do? He was a lad that played with my son. He was 17 and was bowling low 80's then. Hampshire let him go. Nice lad and I hope he makes it.Tell you what I think as an open-minded neutral... I love watching cricket... this was a cricket match... therefore I enjoyed myself. But it wasn't the best, and here's why, IMHO...
1. Not T20 friendly conditions: windy; greenish seamers' track.
2. Very depleted Middlesex side.
3. Atmosphere. This is the second time I have witnessed this at Lords. Virtually full house, but absolutely no focus on the cricket. People drinking and chatting away, but acknowledging nothing at all to do with the action. Eskinazi was just about the only Middlesex player to do himself justice, and yet when he was out for a very creditable 40-odd... not even a hint of applause. fours, occasional sixes, frugal overs, all went by without acknowledgement. And then, once the alcohol started to kick in we had Mexican waves, people singing and dancing to the music... but still no interest in the cricket. Great revenue for Middlesex, but very disappointing for a sad old anorak such as myself.
Otherwise, impressed with Vince and Roussow at the top of the order for Hampshire. Likewise, Abbott with the ball. For Middlesex, Eskinazi, as I said, and Helm looked like he offered a bit of pace. Nice to see two leggies on display, but that was a no-contest as well I'm afraid, with the impressive Crane head and shoulders above Sowter on the day.
...............lots of applause for Eskinazii from the Warner stands............

Send 'em up to Trent Bridge to learn off Notts.
They put up a lot of big scores in both 20/20 and 50 over games.
...............he has played there the past few summers...............I see that McCullum got a decent score for his Caribbean T20 side yesterday.
That's where he went to.
Weather is also a lot nicer out there.
................back to league action today at Lords with the visit of Warwickshire...............
