Was searching for a history of running order of MotD this season. Couldn't find any.

Which was surprising as some sad f***er must keep it

Expected it to be well down the order (so I recorded it to watch back this morning), but the coverage was **** to be honest. I watched the PL 3 minute highlights yesterday evening and there was nothing in the highlights on MotD I hadn't already seen. They need to add some value to what is already out there, otherwise what's the point?

Tbh I thought that they would give over board about forest and there point but they didn’t thank god so it all evens itself up

I mean, it's probably because it was a fairly pants game apart from the late goal. That's all there was to show really.

Utterly ridiculous If agree or disagree with what he said he is a sports presenter not a member of the news team who tweeted from his own twitter account. The same people pillaring him now would be loving it if he had the opposing view Funny that the same people who claim to want free speech get mad when someone expresses an opinion they don’t like

They’ve also pulled an episode of Attenborough’s series about British wildlife which will now only be on iPlayer. It’s critical of those responsible for decimating our countryside and wildlife which may upset some companies and farmers which will never do. It reeks of censorship!

I appreciate there are strong views involved here but this thread is about a football programme, not the BBC. We went down the BBC / free speech rabbit hole yesterday and it didn't end well. Please let's not go there again.

I read that the BBC are currently in a stand-off with GL over tax matters. He is apparently being chased by HMRC for £4.9m of unpaid tax and this relates to his status as a freelance. Pretty cynical if the BBC have used his tweets to punt him off. I like Mark Chapman though so happy to watch MoTD tomorrow- unless we lose of course.

It's not "unpaid tax". It's because HMRC want to tax him as if he were a full-type employee of the BBC rather than an independent, third-party supplier of talent.

The BBC could have simply non-renewed or served notice on any contract between themselves and whatever Legal Entity is providing GL to them at any time under normal commercial practices. They don't need an "excuse".

Can't see a queue of people wanting to present MOTD tomorrow.
I think Shearer is also banned after speaking up about Qatari human rights on MOTD World Cup.
I expect it will be Alex Scott.

Hopefully BBC use this as an opportunity to refresh the presenters and panel as it’s gone stale anyway IMO.

It's nothing to do with his presenting skills. It's the bias and censorship that the BBC are showing.

Anyhow, I've submitted a complaint to the beeb.

I would imagine they will have hard time getting pundits to appear after Wrighty set the tone by pulling out because they would be in a difficult position when Lineker comes back. We may well get just the action with no talk tomorrow.
