Staying impartial ?The reporting on the BBC website is just odd. Reporting on “the bbc” like it’s nothing to do with them ??
He was actually at Leicester today, but won't be in a good mood after they were turned over by Chelsea! With todays result
Great rejoicing that former Everton player, that toffee nosed Lineker, won’t be able to even talk about that game tonight.?
The BBC has a very worthy history of reporting impartially on big stories concerning itself, including the Real Lives and Zircon controversies of 1985 and the Hutton Report in 2004.The reporting on the BBC website is just odd. Reporting on “the bbc” like it’s nothing to do with them ??
If he does not work for the BBC how can they take him off the air?How do you know what’s in his contract. And he does not work for the BBC.
Yes that’s when it was worthy and impartial. The BBC has a very worthy history of reporting impartially on big stories concerning itself, including the Real Lives and Zircon controversies of 1985 and the Hutton Report in 2004.
It’s down to the top leadership, which is currently lacking. In 2004 they were reporting on the sacking of their own editor-in-chief and Greg has been the best commentator on the current situation.Yes that’s when it was worthy and impartial.
I stopped trying to understand them a long time ago.Now confirmed as the LEAD story on the BBC NEWS website.
Don't understand the Beeb sometimes.
He is freelance and it is their show that he presents for them.If he does not work for the BBC how can they take him off the air?
Was thinking the same myself. Can’t imagine they’re impressedI wonder if the EPL will help the BBC understand the terms of their contract. I doubt whether they agreed to a 20 minute highlights package.
There’s a little problem though there’s a contract. He is freelance and it is their show that he presents for them.
They can easily say we don't want you to do Saturday which is what they have done and the other freelance presenters have decided to stay away too.
Gary Lineker will be employed elsewhere if he wants to and it will be their loss not his.
I wish him all the best.
It's informative to read BBC responses to complaints above other contractors. On the other side of the fence Lineker did sign a contract when he went to work for the BBC, he would have known all about the Ts & Cs. Also its also very easy to say he should keep to his morals, very easy when you have his money and won't be out of a job too long if he leaves the BBC. Not saying I don't agree with him but, there is always another side to these things.
Agree, so basically man breeches contractual part of job gets suspended. Fair enough. He is freelance and it is their show that he presents for them.

Bet we’re not on at all. Not a great advert for premier league football.Bet we're not on first!

Or Corporation wrongfully breaks contract over person expressing personal opinion on social media which has sod all to do with either his job or employer. See you in courtAgree, so basically man breeches contractual part of job gets suspended. Fair enough.
We’re already paying my MP’s legal fees, it’s only money ?There’s a little problem though there’s a contract.
As far as most reasonable people would see, the BBC have chosen for spurious reasons to stop him performing the programme he was contracted to.
It would seem that the breach is theirs and I don’t see Gary saying ok guys don’t worry about the dosh.
Fancy seeing your license money paying their legal fees
But the Twitter links in the post before yours suggests otherwise and make this whole thing anything but fair.Agree, so basically man breeches contractual part of job gets suspended. Fair enough.
They spend the money as they wish regardless of my opinion wether on salary or legal fees. There’s a little problem though there’s a contract.

And the BUF 'Hurrah for the Blackshirts' (Daily Mail)What is in his contract?
What is he allowed to do or say and what isn't he allowed to do or say?
Or have the right wing press decided to pressure the BBC over this and the Daily mail are outraged at his comments.
A paper that once supported Nazi Germany.
? It was quite funny for a few minutes, but now I've changed the channel to Gogglebox. So, all those who were saying it’s better without pundits : How’s it going?

I wouldn’t expect Sharp to go over this, though he may still go over the Johnson loan. This is Davie’s error and he’ll likely be the fall guy, especially as it may distract from the pressure on Sharp. They can't even have someone saying: "and next...."
The BBC has lost this. Expect the Chair and DG to go within 48 hours and we are all back to normal next weekend.
If they don't go then it will be an interesting PM Question Time on Wednesday where the PM will basically say WTF are the BBC doing
The live Orchestra who play it each week all boycotted tonight's show in support of Lineker.I don't get why they didn't even do the title music sequence.
I was wondering about that too. Pure speculation on my behalf, but I was wondering what the position of the video editors would be. Without them, no programme. Maybe it needed to be made clear this was not an MOTD programme in any sense, but the logo in the top left of screen made it clear it was a BBC edit.I don't get why they didn't even do the title music sequence.
