3 out of 6 weeks we have been first on?

Brentford v Leeds and then Forest V Bournemouth.

Wouldn't have believed if you told me that would be the case 2/3 years ago.

That’s purely because in those days gone by the ref didn’t have the benefit of VAR to see that the “foul” had been deliberately engineered and specifically for it to be in the penalty area. Now the ref has the facility to enable him to make a decision which admittedly ( but not in this case) could still be incorrect. Hope this helps.
I’m becoming increasingly fed up by posters who, in their attempt to be fair, offer succour to teams like Leeds and their entitled fans and managers, who thrive on cheating and manipulating officials!.
For the most part the club plays the game in the right spirit and the majority of our fans are fair minded.
You seem to get fed up with many things quite easily in some of your posts!

I'm not backing up any opposing clubs at all, nor any cheating. Just calling it as I see it, with the pictures at hand, with legs tangled and what looks like a shove in the back in the box. Whether he fell easily or not is irrelevant - plenty have been given like that.

Just making the point that if that penalty call was for us, I'm confident the vast majority would swear blind it should have been a penalty.

You’re probably right. It’s called support!

Has a goal by Brentford ever featured in the Goal of the Month on MOTD before this weekend?

MotD

Bit of an Arsenal love-fest last night but fair enough I suppose. The analysis of their goals was painful to watch with some poor decision-making by us highlighted in each case. Ivan's excellent free kick and Ramsdale's one save were shown again. With only two games we were always likely to get a fair bit of attention, shame it was not a performance to savour but better than being featured on the EFL highlights.

I think their performance deserved it and the criticism aimed at us was worth noting and taking on board.
We gave them far too much time and space and it made them look better than they were at times.

I never watch it when we lose

mw neither mate !! I was saying to a friend the other day I watched match of the day far more when we were not in the premier league as I can’t bring myself for watch it when we lose but rarely missed an episode when we were not taking part !

MotD

Have they ever completely ignored the fact that a game took place??........

MotD

Definitely last on tonight.

MotD

Who were you chatting with for 90 minutes? :fishing: ?

MotD

Was that bad I don’t think they’ll bother showing it, or will certainly apologise in advance. Need to up our game, geordies away and Brighton at home won’t be easy.

MotD

Today I partied like it’s 1999 (we love you Prince!) and starved myself of all results so I could watch MOTD.

It goes without saying that I wish I hadn’t bothered!

AFCB Manager was surprised that VAR didn't ask the ref to have a look at the 'Handball' in the last minute.

VAR had told the ref it was accidental.

O'Neil said that it was accidental, but was surprised that VAR didn't ask the ref to have a look.

?‍♂️

It clearly hit his foot, then his arm, in a natural position.
The law is pretty clear on this, no penalty.

VAR did look and told the ref, he was correct.

....got a horrible feeling that tonight we might hear the pundits suggesting...for the first time since our introduction to the EPL....that we might struggle this season.....the curse will be upon us.

……….easy pickings for them tonight……….

....phew....we got away with one.

18 certificate stuff.
May contains seems of a graphic, hardcore pounding.

They might have shown Bryan's "goal" in a bit more detail but I suppose there was too much else to talk about. Not convinced Newcastle were as good as MoTD seem to think. If you are gifted three goals then it does tend to be a touch comfortable. Two quality finishes by Guimaeres for sure but if our disallowed goal had stood, who knows?

Compare and contrast their interpretation of our result against Utd and y'day's loss.

Man U pants that day.
Toon brilliant y'day.

I wish they'd have applied their Man U 'big club' logic and just said we were awful, out-gunned in midfield, a man light and naive in our defending and build up play (plus our coach got his tactics wrong).

I think we need a few million more Twitter followers before we get that kind of analysis.

People hear what they want to hear, and no doubt, that includes me. I watched last night and kept the Man U MotD programme on Sky Q. I watched it last week!

We were praised for our demolition of Man U and our pressing and they were criticised for mistakes. Much the same as last night, where Toon were praised for their pressing and our stupid mistakes highlighted.

First up again on MOTD !

What an accolade.

Have I missed us on MOTD? I could've sworn we scored 2 last night while Leicester v Palace was 0-0.
