I even saw Paul (USA) there
How was your day? I guess you sort of got lost amongst all those people?
Coppell there???
..............................I wonder whether Andy Sinton has thrown his hat into the ring, seemed to do (more than) OK at Fleet and now with AFC Telford, maybe the vacancy has come too soon for him, although we've already got the initialled tracksuits etc(!) - and anyway, if Mr Forster continues in the same vein, surely all other bets would be off, wouldn't they??.............................
If Coppell were interested, I wouldn't bother with the selection process, I'd just give him the job.
Overheard that Johnson, Wilkins and Allen were all there. Also heard that Hodgson, O' Neill, Venables and Ron Atkinson were too so not sure what to believe..............
Quite frankly, if the quality of the list above is anything to go on, Sinton ought to save the hat.
Coppell would be my dream and they never come true
Allen would be my nightmare - single dimenional football
Johnson did great at Yeovil and had two good seasons with Bristol City and would be my realistic choice.
What's Perryman doing now?
...............................just thought I'd give his name an airing, he's probably had more success and experience than Dean Holdsworth, who a number of people had been clamouring for - but I'll shut up if that's what you're telling me, boss.....................

Any excuse to mention Deano will be gladly jumped upon: Aldershot today earned a very creditable away point at top of the table Chesterfield. I really believe Deano has got something as a manager. It's probably too late this season, but I would put decent money on Aldershot getting promoted next year.
................................I seem to recall that they got a very creditable draw at GP earlier in the season with someone else in charge??.............................
Yeah, but we were s**t, Chesterfield are good and score a lot of goals at home. It's a tough place to go and get a point in Division Two, and they were behind as well and still came back. I've stopped looking at Newport's scores now, and always look to see what happened to Aldershot now Deano is in charge.
Good managers need luck. Deano has that about him, Andy Scott doesn't.

You don't often get the opportunity to appoint an experienced manager who is not out of work due to anything but his own failings.
But, in Gary Johnson, we could appoint a manager who is out of work as he was not prepared to accept bullshit from a chairman and a director of football. Barry Fry ? He couldn't direct traffic !
Gary Johnson for me.![]()
47 cv's recieved already![]()
I can't find the next Brentford manager odds on Sky Bet (coz i'm sh*te)![]()
I thought it was in the managers specials bit?
Skybet have removed it and it has also been removed from Oddschecker ,probably due to so many faces seen today and rumours .

Gary Johnson with foster on the coaching staff
For those of you who were lucky enough to be at the game today, Bee's Player had an interview with Andrew Mills before the game where he gave an open and honest assesment of the week just gone, the headlines were as follows:
- He had a call with MB and board on weds night to discuss the club, the results etc...a few ideas were banded about however they all decided to sleep on it (didn't finish the call till after midnight)
- Thurs morning (8am), held another call and it was decided that CEO had the job of meeting AS/TB at a hotel and letting them go
- Had 46 CV's in his inbox by the time he got back from the training ground
- MA been in touch with him, been told that if he meets the criteria then he will be spoken to, if he doesn't he wont be
- A Manager (unnamed) was heading down to the south coast to take a job however he wanted our job more so could meet up to discuss it further, said manager turned down the job on the south coast and phoned up Mills still asking to talk about it, Mill's said that he wasn't in a position to discuss this further
- Got faith in Forster
- Taking time to make the appointment, got a set criteria that they will be putting together based on the long term future of the club so no decision will be made until the criteria has been drawn up
- Criteria could include style of football played, what the fans want etc...
That's about the size of it. The Wednesday night conference call started at 10pm when the participants logged in and we closed down at around midnight. A smaller group (including myself) then 're-assembled' 8.15am Thursday morning when the timetable for the day was pieced together. AS and TB were contacted on their way to the training ground and asked to meet with AM and myself at a hotel near Richmond where we had the responsibility of conveying to them the unanimous decision of the board. AM and myself then went to the training ground to meet with Nicky Forster and the news was officially given to the players. In truth they were already aware that something was 'up' because AS and TB had not shown at Jersey Road. Whilst all of this was going on Peter Gilham was also at the training ground putting together a statement for the official website that reflected the decision but of course in this day of instant communications, twitter, facebook the news had broken in the media. Greg Dyke was leaving the UK on a pre-arranged trip early Thursday morning and whilst he was on the Wednesday night conference call he was not a party to the Thursday morning one. The press report that Greg spent three hours with Nicky Forster on Thursday was incorrect. He wasn't in the UK for most of Thursday.
............................Scruffy, are you Dean Holdsworth's lap-dog, similar to hypa being Andy Scott's??.............................![]()

Do you think it may have been Ray Wilkins heading down to Southampton to join the coaching staff along with his brother? But of course he'd rather be top dog at Brentford than one of many on the Southampton management team. Just a lot of dodgy guess work but I can't work out who else it might have been.
You might be right. I just hope Andrew Mills knows the difference between a coach and a manager.
He was assistant to Dennis Wise at Millwall. They finished 10th both season the duo were there. I'm not convinced. Gary Johnson has a far better knowledge of our level of football.
Thank abee for the info on what when on it is very much appreiciated hope NB behaved himself today.......
Don't forget, Wilkins managed, he was the manager too, both Fulham and QPR, :yuck:
For what it's worth, from chatting to people in the ground and from a few conversations I overheard, most people are against Allen coming back.
Haven't read many of the 24 pages, but did anyone spot an wannaBEE bees managers in the crowd today.
Disappointed that I didn't see any, although heard Dennis Wise, Ray Wilkins, Martin Allen and Gary Johnson banded about. No wonder it was a decent crowd.
