Doesn't sound too promising re him becoming the next Brentford manager. Perhaps I have read it wrong...

Martin Allen for me left the club but was let down by the sale of DJ Campbell we would of got just as much in the summer for him.

i really dont know pal - knew he did fairly well at brizzle but wasnt sure if he took them out of this league or joined them whilst in the championship

Said to a mate the night b4 he moved to Aldershot, I would have moved for Dean Holdsworth.
Suspect he will do well at Aldershot raiding the Conference for decent bargains. Will have a bet on the playoffs for them next season. Therefore.


1) Andy Sinton ( Telford for anybody who doesn't know. Been there a while and 2 defeats all season in Conference North)

2) Gary Johnson - decent record

3) Martin Allen - think he would still have somethin to give with a better budget than he had here last time

His career record is pretty outstanding;

Cambridge United - Assistant Manager and manager from 4th Div to brink of top division
Yeovil Town - FA Trophy, Conference Title, Div 3 Title
Bristol City - Div 1 Play Off Winners, Championship Play off final

42% win percentage in over 600 games. Works for me.

Chronicle now reporting on Twitter that they've spoken to Johnson and a story will be online shortly. I can't see he would've spoken about the job if he was about to take it so we may be able to rule him out.

I thought prospective managers give comments to the press. Things like "honoured to be linked" ... "fantastic club" ..."would like to speak to them". Y'know ... like in that football manager game :D

Coppell and Hughton wont want to manage us, Johnson is the only real option as much as lots of people would like to see Martin Allen back. I certainly dont want Dennis Wise.

Ideally I would like to see how the team fares with Nicky Forster for the next few games, I dont want this rushed.

He's outspoken, loves this club, regrets ever leaving,
gives 100%, gets great media coverage and makes GP
a very enjoyable place to be.
Always remember, MA ran his team with very little money !

GJ is a solid league 1 replacement but difficult to get to excited if he is appointed as we need to be looking to the future. Would like to see a younger manager appointed. Be good to see if we will all be walking in a Forster wonderland and then if he is not ready bring back Mad dog!!

Why? We've had young managers come with energy and enthusiasm, motivate the players and get them out of trouble. Now we need someone with experience of getting clubs promotion and working with a decent budget who has contacts in the game.

We are at a point where we need a good coach and not 'bright young things'. This squad of players is more than capable of heaving us the table with a new start, new focus and sound management.

MA? We had fun last time, but i don't think his appoint would be possible, so he's out.
GJ? A good manager, got Bristol City up, they probably had a good budget, did well for a season or two in the Championship.
DW? A possibility, but i don't think the fans would warm to him, so no!
SC? A nice enough person, did well for one year, could he do it again? Yes. Would be nice, but i doubt it.
PP? Did well at Col U but not much since, maybe get the Phil and Geraint partnership back at GP? A possibility.
JM? Did ok, but don't really know much about him, a maybe.

I have no idea apart from MA :( for a while anyway!
