We're doomed captain

Well done to the Phins, although reports of the Patriots demise are premature, I still expect them to figure in the play-offs

I'm not so sure about that. :( Cassell had a very poor game by all accounts and our Defence just couldn't cope with Brown. Unhappy times.

This NFLUK fantasy thing is a bit crap, isn't it? You can change your entire team every week, have to if you want to do well. The salary cap is so generous there's no challenge. And we can't even see each other's scores.

For what it's worth I've got 308 points.

Better than me I've got 220:(

NFL 08

You could sort of. Those gpg ers who want to play just post their scores when they are known each week and after seventeen weeks highest number of points wins:sorted:

NFL 08

OK, I just checked again. Turns out I've got a few more points than I first thought.

Silly Cat Face! Hasn't heard of Photoshop.

Marion Barber is off my Christmas card list. 37 yards, no touchdowns. Should never have trusted someone with a girl's name.

Philip Rivers, Marshawn Lynch, not much better.

You been looking at my teamrofl

Dallas Cowboys

Beaten at home by the Skins :(

Anybody want to explain why they deserve to win whey stop a driive and then get to give it all back having 12 men on the field coming out of a time out?

Barber's running has been consistent all year, why was he used so little ? At least make them think you may run it every now and then

NFL 08

At least you guys did not pick Reggie Bush :(
and I bet you dropped him this week lol

Some interesting games this week. Indianapolis came back from 17 points down in the 4th quarter, highlights at
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=29593&season=2008&displayPage=tab_gamecenter

The Monday night game had everything - two punt returns and a blocked FG returned for TDs, another TD pass by a running back, two 53 yard FGs. New Orleans missed a game-winning FG and one play later Minnesota had the ball in FG position. Highlights at
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=29602&season=2008&displayPage=tab_gamecenter

New England bounced back with their first respectable performance of the season, 30-21 at San Francisco :). Kevin Faulk scored off a direct snap. The QB was in the pocket, though, not like Miami where the QB lined up at WR. What are these offences being called?

My fantasy team, on the other hand, would not have been worth watching. Only 88 yards total from my TE and WRs . Calvin Johnson, what was I thinking? My worst week yet, 61 points I think.

NFL 08

Wembley tickets turned up today :sorted: but no tailgate party tickets :(:(

It'll have to be the Green Man pub again for us.

NFL 08

The Cowboys are putting all their fans through it again - Nick Folk just hit a 52yd field goal to take it into OT at Arizona.

Sensational finish to the Atlanta - Chicago game earlier with a Bears TD putting them 20-19 up with 0.06 on the clock before Jason Elam (my fantasy team kicker) winning it for the Falcons with 1 second left.

I've watched the majority of Sky's coverage so far this season and at the moment it's looking very difficult to pick a team that could beat the Giants, which is incredible considering how ropey they looked this time last year.

NFL 08

...and Washington lost at home to St Louis. So much for the all-powerful NFC East.

Houston also got their first win, sneaking past Miami at the death, converting two 4th downs in their final drive. Detroit almost got off the mark too, but went down 12-10 to a late field goal in Minnesota.

No work for me tomorrow, so I'll try to stay up for the New England game.

Better showing for my fantasy team this week, 91 points I think. Star player was the Jets defence. Last hour decision to drop Rodgers and Jennings cost me though - the man throws better when he's in pain!

I dont know much about NFL - but today went to see San Fran 49ers Vs Philly Eagles. The Eagles won and it was a fun day out :sorted:

Wow! I was at that match too. The score was very close until the last few minutes when O'Sullivan, the 49ers quarterback, had one fumble and two interceptions in his own half. Those three turnovers resulted in thirteen points for the Eagles whose victory margin was fourteen points - 26-40. The Eagles were by far the better team.

NFL 08

I think this week broke all records for games decided right at the death. There were 6 lead changes within the last 12 seconds, 2 of them at Atlanta!!

St Louis win 19-17 at Washington, FG as the clock ran out.

Chicago lead Atlanta 20-19, TD with 0:11 left.
Atlanta beat Chicago 22-20, FG as the clock ran out.

Minnesota beat Detroit 12-10, FG with 0:09 left.

Houston beat Miami 29-28, TD on 4th and 2 with 0:03 left.

Dallas tie with Arizona 24-24, FG as the clock ran out.
(OT, Dallas went 3 and out, and the punt was blocked for a TD - 55 secs)

As always, all the highlights at www.nfl.com - it doesn't work properly in Firefox for me.

Oh yeah, and New England were humiliated again. :( First and goal on the 1 yard line and they lost it on downs :banghead:

Was having dinner in Chillis while watching this on the big screen here in Florida ... seeing the punt being charged down and retuned for the winning touchdown put me off my Crispy Chicken dinner :( :D :D

Nolan should be fired soon I think, its unheard of for a coach to still be around whilst leading a team to 4 consectutive losing seasons.

Thought one of Akers kicks looked to have hit the outside of the post, but they ruled it good.

Dallas tie with Arizona 24-24*, FG as the clock ran out. (OT, Dallas went 3 and out, and the punt was blocked for a TD - 55 secs)
*Only poetic justice. Dallas actually missed the game-tying field goal and only got to replay the kick because the Arizona coach called a time-out at the last second to try to un-nerve the kicker. If he had kept his mouth shut he would have won the game in regulation time.

NFL 08

No NFLUK fantasy league this week because of technical balls up. But we can play fantasy fantasy NFL. My team would have been:

HOU Schaub QB, Johnson WR, Slaton RB, Daniels TE
CAR Smith WR, Kasay K
NYG Jacobs RB, Defence

NFL 08

The San Diego Chargers are staying at a hotel down the road. All members to have an e-m saying the NFL have asked members not to approach the players for autographs or photos. I dont think anyone gives a flying F*** about them to be honest

NFL 08

You sure? According to the telly they're in Buffalo, NY at the moment.

NFL 08

How about dem Rams for a dark horse winning the NFC west, two excellent wins over very tough opposition (Cowboys & Redskins)

Suddenly the NFC East division looks a little soft

Coaches keep doing this, backfired on the Raiders this, with the Jets kicker hittting the post then retaking the kick as a timeout was called millseconds before the kick,

CAR Smith WR 18, Kasay K 12

141 points, I think. Would have been my best score by a mile, might have put me in the top 100. Bastards!

This was my team for the missing week

Jeff Garcia

Marion Barber
Andre Johnson
Vincent Jackson
Kevin Boss
John Kasey
New York Giants

Not sure how you work out how many points that makes

You must be psychic - Nolan has gone, to be replaced in the interim by former Bears legend Mike Singletary.

This season there hasn't been a dominant team so far, the closest to it has been the Titans who have been beating some of the poorest teams in the league with good defense and a somewhat one dimensional offense. They are due to play one of the Colts on Monday, but it will probably tell us more about the Colts than the Titans merits. So far there have been 3 flavours of the team this year - the Keystone Colts (penalties & cockups galore), the comeback Colts and the traditional Colts from the last few years.

NFL 08

So who is going to Wembley to see the game on Sunday?

Silly Chip and I....who else from the GPG?

NFL 08

Went last year and it was a blast, expect this year to be better more points for sure. Sadly not going this year :(

 It was like watching paint dry. Low scoring, miserable weather.

Can't believe the NY Giants went on to win the SuperBowl

Marion Barber 17
Andre Johnson 14

John Kasey 12
New York Giants 33

125 points, I reckon. I get it from the game stats on nfl.com. Game points, a point for every 10 yards rushing or receiving, a point for every 30 yards passing, 3 points for a TD pass. For the defence 3 points for each sack, int or forced fumble. Sad, I know.

Struggling to find good WR and TE matchups for this week. Might take a punt on Marques Colston.
