We have screwed up twice now. Third time lucky surely. Massive positive for us that Swansea have overhauled Forrest IMO. And really good news for football too. Would never wish the sack on a manager, but I hope, for the benefit of their supporters and the division as a whole, that they are able to contribute something a little more progressive next season. We are not playing forest or Cardiff. I fancy our chances against Swansea. TF and also MB need to give the team a good talk tonight and tomorrow.

We finished 3rd in tier 2 of football. That for Brentford is amazing. best finish for god knows how many years.

Our amazing run of 8 straight wins had to end at some point. We won all the tough games but took our eye off the prize when our destiny was placed in our own hands. Now there are no "what if's", we have to beat our opposition, it's as simple as that.

We are still a good side; we didn't score 80 goals and finish with the same goal difference as the Champions by accident.

Finally, just as our good run had to end at some point, so must our dreadful record in the play-offs.

For what it’s worth, personally due to momentum I think we will struggle big time in play offs. But on the positive side of things looking to next season if we don’t do it, it looks quite a poor league imo. Teams like Wycombe, Barnsley, Rotherham, Luton, reading (in big financial trouble), Birmingham, along with Sheffield Wednesday and derby getting possible points deductions, all will be struggling.

Seen a lot of mentions about worry for squad next year. Of course we will lose benrahma and watkins (maybe one other), but we’ve got the basis of a fantastic squad. With covid hitting clubs hard, we will be one of few clubs with quite a bit of money to spend through sales.
And we will learn from this and I think it will make the club (especially benham even more determined to get in the premier league)

Plus we’d all much rather be there/in the ground when lifting the trophy (unlike Liverpool and leeds) and also be able to go to away games in the premier league where next season it looks unlikely.

I’m fairly relaxed over play offs, our time will come. We are slowly building. Look what happened the following season after Doncaster. Bit of patience and our time will come.

Without doubt the playoffs will be tough and it will take a lot of work from the coaches to lift the players following these last 2 games and if I were Thomas I would include PG in the motivational talk.

However having watched us for all these years I thought I would have a look to see where some of our past regular opponents were plying their trade. Some are now non league whilst others are plodding around in the bottom divisions going nowhere. Something we did for the first 50 odd years of my Brentford supporting life.

We are pissed off because we missed auto promotion to the Premier League but still have a chance through the playoffs. There are fans of loads of clubs that would bite their hand off to be in our position.

We have travelled on a tremendous journey in the past few season, seeing a level of football that we could only dream about in the past some fantastic players and a shiny new stadium just waiting for us. Yes it’s disappointing that we fell at the final hurdle but we still have a chance and if it’s not to be then it won’t be for lack of effort

Football is a game of fine margins, we all believe ( including the odd Cat it would seem) that we could do a better job than the coaches, and in defeat all the mistakes in team selection etc are highlighted. However TF has taken us to the highest league position in my long life and we have a whole raft of experts that can judge players fitness etc. I am happy for them to make the decisions and hope they can get a new tune out of the squad over the next couple of weeks
