The one takeaway I picked up from watching the Fulham Cardiff game is that Fulham are really vulnerable to set pieces. I suspect that TF has picked up on this also and hopefully our set pieces delivery is spot on come Tuesday.

But on the flip side Fulham are not bad at scoring from them.

Agreed. Since we could not be there I would have hoped that this could have been produced. With the match worth so much to the winner the cost could have been underwritten by the clubs, or maybe an agreement the winning club could have underwritten it. Oh well, too late now.

My thinking is he can be replaced as he has not officially been taken off the field (subbed or sent off).
Thus when going into extra time the injured player is still, technically, part of the match and can now be replaced.

If he recovered, hed be able to resume playing so it would just be a 'normal' substitution at that time.

It's not really free money, though. The additional costs of recruitment, salaries and bonuses will eat a big part of that.

Yep, it was obvious this early against Stoke (Cardiff), Yeovil (Wembley) and Stoke again (recently). It was also obvious early against Swansea that we were completely up for it. Really hoping that, just for once in a big promotion game, we get somewhere near our best!

Tough one but if DaSilva is fully fit I’d go with him and Jensen with Emiliano to come off the bench and be decisive like he was at Craven Cottage.

Just been watching clips of TFs and Scott Parker’s pre match pressers on SSN. 2 things of note stood out:

1) Parker looked extremely negative in his demeanour. The same he was at the end of their match v Cardiff last week. He almost looks resigned to defeat. Looks like he’s running the Terry Butcher playbook on motivation at the moment.

2) He claims to have a fully fit squad to choose from. Will be interesting to see if Mitrovic or Kebano are fit but as mentioned elsewhere, ***ham are statistically poorer when Mitrovic plays.

Often wondered why QPR / Fulham haven't sussed that if one team's fired up and the other is "Well, it's not really our derby, actually" that there's only going to be one winner.

True. However when they last played us he had a couple of very good opportunities to score and but for the positioning of Raya he may well of scored as on those two occasions he had the beating of Pontus.

Agreed. I suggested this on another thread. They are forced to be much more imaginative around the box when he's not there to be the focal point. If he plays, expect them to mix it up and use him as a decoy on occasions. That's if Parker has any sense.

yes and Pontus has been a bit wobbly last few games. Need him bang on it tomorrow, which I'm sure he will be. However, I do agree that Fulham seem less expansive with Mitrovic playing.. Doesn't sound like he's 100% fit either so may well be good for us if he starts.. ?

This would make more of a difference if the game were in front of 85k (there was a really interesting piece earlier from Jokanovic about Fulham’s last final appearance and their lack of Big game experience compared to Villa’s). Without a crowd it might be easier just to focus on playing without being overawed by the occasion and location. In the end it’ll be about that focus and shutting out all the extraneous stuff about what comes next.

Dalsgaard, Jansson, Jenson and Norgaard have all played at International level. Think they might help to steady the youngsters with no experience.

Watkins and Jansson have both lost in playoff campaigns, and Ollie spoke about making sure he didn't leave anything off the pitch after maybe not performing enough during Exeter's traditional annual playoff final loss.

It's one of those things where once we know the result, people will speak about it one way or the other and come up with their own narrative. Both teams want to win so I don't see it being a huge issue, how each team plays on the day will affect it.
