Not at all, as others mentioned above, he was on a yellow and we needed to change it. I was more surprised last season he was subbed after scoring a goal against Norwich at home and then we ended up playing Goode up top. That was strange tactics for me, not today.

Defended very well as always but his poor delivery is so frustrating, especially when he’s playing higher up the pitch when we play with a back 3

Shouldn't have tried to shoot when he was in the box 2nd half. Had better options to pull the back to.

Pretty much, his pace & defending are exceptional. One burst where he left TAA trailing in his wake was particularly impressive. It's the final product when he's got himself in these superb attacking situations that is his Achilles heel & the only thing preventing him from being a shoe in for a Top Four side.

Thought he was fantastic today defensively. His first touch is that of an elite footballer and how he's not had a call up for England yet is scandalous.

Made a poor choice when he got into their box second half, but other than that I thought he was on for MoM until coming off.

He was up against some of the best players in the league today and it shows how far he’s come and how he’s improved that when watching him there is now a general sense that he will cope in every situation when he’s defending. Granted, he can add that extra bit to his game that is missing which is the final bit of the attacking sequence, either the final pass or his shots at goal, but he had Salah in his pocket today which not many have achieved and he still has the fitness and energy to contribute going forward. What a player!

He got a bit of Mee time when he got his defence duty wrong. Left his marker. Always scares me when at corners he gets to mark someone two foot taller but rarely gets beaten in defence. Very fast but lacks composure on the ball. Schade is the same. Mbeumo was the same but his composure yesterday for the non goal proves they will all get better. Hope they all get Champions League medals for Brentford.

It's odd how you interpreted his performance at Anfield yesterday. I made the trip up to the game. He was playing against world-class players in Salah and Trent, and I thought he was excellent except from the shot he missed with his weaker foot. He did well and made it difficult for Salah to get a run at him. If my memory serves me correctly, there was a shove on Ethan or one of our other players in the build up, who in turn played Salah onside for the goal, I felt Rico held off following Salah because he did not want to play him onside but the shove made the goal stand. He gave a solid performance all-round in my opinion, but I guess everyone to their own.

Be very supprised if he is still with us next season also noticed on social media Newcastle fans want him for next season, I say yea for £60M

He's fine in a back 4 but he's no wing-back, that will severely limit his desirability.

I agree his final ball can be better and he should chip in with a few goals but I wouldn’t change him for any other left back in world football lol I think he’s that good !

His attacking output/contribution is a long way off the level required for a Top 6 club, he’s openly admitted this himself. Perhaps a blessing in disguise if this means he stays a bee though, outstanding defender and his first touch is incredible

I’m guessing Buttigieg still playing Libero for Malta.

It would also allow GS to trial playing Stones/TA-A instead of Walker as the inverted RB.....given the (excellent) defensive cover that will be provided by Rico on the other flank.

(none of this will happen btw)

The man’s a clown will win nothing with him as a manager. I posted similar during World Cup and Euro’s. Don’t tell me what he has achieved because I do know but I also the talent he has had available. England has probably the top pools of players in the world at present. That won’t last forever
