When will the appeal be heard?

Presumably it will be lodged ASAP when the FA open this morning?

On the subject of Swansea and sending players off was it a league game or the play off where Nelson got sent off?

By Stroud.

Rico Henry

What!? Hopefully the fact that we are comfortably top of the fair play league this season may also count in our favour with the powers-that-be.

This is one league I would prefer us to be mid-table in.

Rico Henry

In real time I thought it was a bit reckless and totally unnecessary

Tend to agree with this... Some might call it committed though. And yes, he clearly got the ball. But was there any need for such a tackle in that area of the pitch?

Rico has been absolutely terrific this season and I really hope it's overturned.

It was HIS wing. :)

Rico Red could end up being a triple whammy:
1. Down to 10 men in last night's game.
2. Complicates preparation for Wednesday, as we'll need to consider, and practise, alternative formations.
3. Rico might not be available on Wednesday.

If you get a red card for clearly winning the ball there is something wrong with the game. If the appeal is not successful then football as we know it is finished imo.

If Rico is missing on Wednesday in a strange kind of way it may galvanise the rest of the team

Rico's position is one that we don't have sufficient cover for. Yes I know we have Dom Thompson, but you have to ask yourself why he wasn't on the bench last night.

If he hasn't made the bench since the restart asking him to come in and do a job this game is a massive ask.

I reckon he goes with Henrik at left back and Mads Roerslav at RB. This is not the time to try to bed in a new formation.

If you put in a slide tackle it requires momentum and timing. Rico got the ball and it seems to me that the powers that be would have to ban slide tackles as they require momentum.

Rico Henry

Seems to me that he's been punished for being fast, but his timing was perfect. To me that tackle is everything that we need to keep in football: genuinely skilful, committed, and not in the least reckless or dangerous. An exhibition of the defensive arts. So important that we get this overturned as he is a massive player for us and the main reason why we can get away with giving Said so much freedom. Hopefully sanity will prevail.

Much may depend on Keith Stroud. I am sure that Thomas has a sensible relationship with him and therefore would have had a chat with him after the game to review it on the replay. Hopefully Keith, like all of us, can see that a straight red was very harsh and if he has anything about him he will actually say to the FA that he thinks he got it wrong. I get the feeling, despite his reputation for prancing around, that he would hold his hands up if he 'believes' he got it wrong.

Agree. Particularly as he will have to honestly admit that he did not see the whole thing clearly, (he was viewing it from the back of the action), and was relying mainly on the 4th Official’s opinion, who was obviously fed up with his role of just holding a subs board, and wanted to get in on the action.

Also the Asst. Referee wasn’t that far away, but doesn’t seem to have been involved in the decision?

I'm not sure what your optimism regarding Stroud is based upon Doovster- especially given his record with us.

Rico Henry

It doesn't matter if you win the ball as if the ref deems him out of control its a red card

Any challenge with any degree of momentum could therefore be deemed 'out of control' and worthy of a red-card. Playing devils advocate surely Cabango's challenge on Watkins was 'out of control' and worthy of a red card as well.

Absolutely. Cabango's challenge was shocking and I can't believe more of a fuss wasn't made of it.

I guess I'm hoping that Keith is a mature enough man these days to admit he made a mistake. I get the impression that overall he has improved as a ref, despite yesterday's actions. I also don't believe he has a specific problem with Brentford, despite the number of red cards shown historically, I think Keith's biggest problem is that throughout his career he's always got a bit carried away and made some poor decisions through simply making bad judgements.

In fact if I recall correctly didn't KOC say in his lockdown interview say that Keith admitted he had a bit of a mare when we played Sheff Utd away that year he sent of Clayton and TC?

He was. Read the transcript of the conversation he had with Jensen.

I like your optimism. One of the things that most disappointed me about the decision was that it was obvious that the ref was in an awful position to see what happened. He was over thirty yards away. His line of sight to the incident was obscured by other players. What the ref directly saw was a crowd of players in his face demanding a red card. I reckon that, objectively, the decision was made more on seeing the reaction to a player flying upward. I bet he didn’t see the contact.

Being 3 foot tall he is never seeing any decisions which is why he guesses a lot of his decisions.
Also why I think he gets away with it all with the FA because they can't admit they made a mistake with the guy who can't see anything but need to be seen backing him.

Let's just hope that the poisoned dwarf's cock-up has no effect on which team reaches the play-off final.

Rico Henry

Has Rico scored for us this year.......

Rico Henry

Electric pace...a slippery eel...his form is top top top

Rico Henry

Thank you keith for giving our little road runner an extra bit of rest for tonights games... Meep meep

Rico Henry

Absolutely crucial that the decision got overturned (correctly).
What a run and cross for the third!!! :bound:

Rico Henry

Shame when talking to Cooper the sky reporter did not ask him for his thoughts on the wonderful football leading up to the decisive goal. Well, he likes good football apparently.

Rico Henry

Quality. Be pleasantly surprised if he is here next season

Rico Henry

Prob should have shot when he got free in the box but otherwise one of our best performers today on a generally bad day..

Rico Henry

Great today and throughout the season.. He's always been Prem class and will be sold.. At least we'll get top dollar for him
