Always rated him ,just goes to show good players never lose it........Its the way they are managed.....Well done UR.

Also just to add to WARFIELD BEE'S post....the guy at the back of the Bill Axbey, Always shouts " FFS Rosler get him away from the free kicks"...............................:D

Sam Saunders

I sit near a couple of sad gits who also slag him and Clayton off for the whole match, no matter how they both play, and it gets boring week in and week out, I dont think they come to watch football, but just to throw contant abuse about, unfortunately every clubs suffers ***** like that, it's so pathetic, but they get on your nerves so much you feel like giving them a bit of a slapping to shut them up.

ask to move seat next season.

alas, brentford innit.

Sam Saunders

I called him a lazy git a year ago from Ealing road as he was taking a corner. About 20 minutes later he scored a free kick and ran over pointed at me cupped his ear and told me to f off!!!!

I emailed the fa and asked if they could put me down for an assist. Abusing players sometimes does the trick :)

Sam is now the player I thought we had signed from D and R

Agree with the first part, for some reason his performance at Wembley last season really got to me, show-pony, glory boy, fancy dan......were a few of the more polite euphamisms I uttered about him whilst making the long losers walk to the station. However in the latter part of this season and the new formation he is a player reborn. Very influential and has added a work ethic to his game which maybe lack of match fitness or something else precluded before. An important cog in the assault on promotion methinks and he's signed a new contract so hopefully he's not going anywhere.

All that time under Scott when he was playing him on the wing and presumably asking him to out pace right backs. I always maintained he was the creative midfielder everyone was saying we needed, he was there right under our nose. It took a good Manager to see his potential, that's why Uwe will become a top manager and Scott is on the dole................

Sam Saunders

A fitter Saunds than at any time over the last 3 years. His famous Michael Owen hamstrings gave way after six good games, then a month off with strains or niggles.
He runs more in 90 minutes now than he did in 3 games last year, has matured into a important first team player who other sides envy.
He seems part of the Uwe master plan.
The only niggle Sam suffers from now is why he had to waste two seasons playing hoof ball under Scott.

In all that's gone on this season, by far the biggest result has been Sam turning out to be the lower league Xavi :sorted:

I suppose we all owe you a thank you then. Keep up the great motivational work!

Sam Saunders

Got to give UR credit for his development.

Would not be surprised to see bids for him this summer.

Like many in our squad (which is worrying) he is such a confidence player and atm he seems lacking in that department. When he is on his game he has a spring in his step and its hard to keep him away from the action. From Walsall onwards he has been a passenger, not sure why Rosler keeps picking him over Forrester or why Rosler hasnt yet learned how to deal with Saunders on a personal level.

Sam Saunders

I think we just seemed to bypass the area of the pitch he was playing in, didn't get much of the ball at all, he only did when he came out to the wing and had some interplay with Logan. Forrester I can't remember making a single contribution last night and I feel we may have just bypassed him as well. Not blaming either player, but if you don't get them the ball they can't do anything with it.

That is a fair point but if were want to go up we need players that get themselves in the game rather than those who just watch the ball from the wing if the game is passing them by.

Forrester had two decent runs with the ball. One down the New Road side in the penalty area where he got crowded out and a good whipped cross from deep at the touchline on the Braemar Road side. His trickery and ability to beat a man from open play and deliver a good pass or cross really needs to be part of Roslers plans.

Sam Saunders

Saunders has been subbed the last three games, been very below par.

I bet Sam wishes he didn't sign that picture for you now! :nono:

How could you? Poor Sam :(

Gah , i feel guilty now. I take it back . Sam will start and score

* sings * oh Sammy Saunders .

Sam Saunders

If we dont utilise Harry he will leave at the end of the season but you cant play them both so Sam has to drop out

Sam Saunders

if Sam is playing crap and Harry is bursting a gut and frustrated its a no brainer for Saturday

Sam Saunders

Sadly for Sam he is a right winger and for some reason uwe has decided wingers are no longer needed?

Sam Saunders

Saunders has never been a right winger! He has played on the right side of midfield but the basic criteria that a winger should be able to get past a full back has never been his strength.

Uwe could fit them both in if he played more of a European 4-2-3-1

Lee

Logan - Dean - Craig - Barron

Foreshaw - Douglas

Saunders - Donaldson - Forrester

El Alagui

Crucially, that attacking three behind Farid (or Hayes) need to know when to go wide and when to go through the middle, and react to what each other is doing.

What is he then? central midfielder? left sided? do tell?

Sam always played a floating role at D&R and that's what Uwe has him playing now, in the front of midfield, behind the strikers. It was Scott's rigid 4-4-2 that meant he played as a winger, or wide midfielder, but he's just not got any pace at all so winger is not the position for him.

Just coz he hasn't got much pace doesn't mean he isn't a winger? he always played wide right and delivers crosses a plenty, surely that is a winger? Would you say David beckham was a winger? Incidentally wiki describes him as a midfielder/winger!

Bl**** H***! I'd say a winger is a player who beats a full back with pace, gets to the by-line and crosses the ball; I'd say a wide midfielder plays narrower and is more likely to put in a diagonal cross. Beckham was a right-sided midfielder, I doubt that even he would consider himself to be a winger. I still think Sam is neither - his best position is as a roving midfielder. If you want, I can edit Wiki and call him a left back... it doesn't mean it's a true fact.

Sam Saunders

Ok mate your right I'm wrong, wiki is wrong, how dare we question you, swear words and exclamation marks blah blah blah

...Forshaw is showing Sam how a midfielder can run a midfield....Sam needs to put in some decent dísplays and stop sulking...

I reckon Douglas should be taking notes from Mr.Forshaw.

Sam Saunders

Sam finished the season changing the mind a lot of doubters that he was just a free kick specialist with his tracking back, tackling and working hard for the team.

45 minutes at Walsall, subbed, a hour at Bury, subbed and last night a repeat, Sam has not had any influence on any game yet, he used to pull the strings in the middle, the only strings being pulled so far is Uwe's as he's hooked him as for the first sub in each game.

He and us needs a free kick to go in sharpish. A confident cocky Saunders is a different player to the one on show at the moment.

Sam Saunders

Sam is a confidence player who needs to be loved and to be seen as "the man".

It took a long time for him to show his true ability but confidence is ephemeral and I would hate to see him slip back and become an also ran again

If we are a better side without him, an also ran he must be.

beckham had little pace but played many games on the right for clubs and country....

Beckham also managed to get enough curve on a ball to be able to cross it without "beating" his man. I have seen Saunders achieve this to be fair, but not regularly.

Please see my later postings for a dissertation on naming formation positions, including D. Beckham, Esq.

Sam Saunders

Sam Saunders the bloke who puts crosses in from the right wing but isn't a winger?

In your eyes he's a 'winger', in my & others eyes he's a right/central midfielder, he doesn't have pace to say he's an out n out winger, in the old sense of the word, like a Smillie, Stephenson, Roberts, Crown etc etc but it's your choice as to what you want to call his position.
