Hope your source is more reliable than this post when you said we were signing Simon Francis. Southend did accept the offer of 150K but he didn't sign. Still hope you are right though.

From Keenobee.
Heard from a reliable source (that's all I can say) fee is £50k with add-ons taking the total transfer fee to a possible £150k.

Cant be bothered to read history of posts but if "Heard from a reliable source (that's all I can say) fee is £50k with add-ons taking the total transfer fee to a possible £150k." was all i said then i was right, never mentioned he had signed just that we had agreed a fee. To be fair it was pretty spot on but he chose not to sign for us.

Scott Robertson

he said he has been offered a deal at United so Dundee i guess, isnt staying but does not know where he is going yet

Scott Robertson

The thing which amuses me the most is the amount of recent followers that he has that are either Brentford or Ipswich fans.

Was this in response to your tweet? Like i said he's not allowed to announce he has signed for us as i think we are looking to unveil 3 new signings within the next 2 weeks, a Striker and Defender who can play left back and centre back (not Pim).

Scott Robertson

Isn't it time to look for a player who looks like he wants to play for us?

Bees tracking Dundee Utd..midfielder Robertson.......YOU REDS....

Every time I hear the names Scott and Brentford in the same breath it brings back bad memories

Scott Robertson

For me it brings memories of topping L2.

The difference is I'm a season ticket holder and watched nearly every game under his tenure, you are a fan not a supporter and don't go to games !

Maybe you should try a bit of another Ex Bees Manager's PMA and then you'ld realise there were a few good memories thrown in under Scott for good measure...now:backtotopic:;)

Untrue. And shouldn't we return to topic?
On a point of detail: who was our last north-of-the-border acquisition who made a massive impact at GP?

Rowan Alexander...skippy was an absolute legend for five minutes into his debut against Leicester in the Milk Cup and again scoring a hat trick in a 5-3 win against Darlo...the rest was pretty forgettable apart from the fact boy could he win headers for a small guy.........sorry I digress again:backtotopic::backtotopic::backtotopic:

Scott Robertson

i was at both,so whats your point  does this mean you wasnt at Darlington ?

Hypa 123's abiding memory of AS was promotion, mine was that dreadful night at Dagenham, probably because it was his last game.
I liked Leroy, didn't rate him and again sadly my abiding memories of him are unpleasant - either the hat trick against us or the walk along the touch line when he knew he was a dead man walking.

but there was no good times under Rosenior at all.....So,although it WAS time for AS to go,he also gave us a memorable league winning season,a year after Terry Butcher was pushing us towards the Conference(2 points above relegation befoe he went i remember ) and that League Cup run, equalling our best ever run.As much as i agreed he had to go after Dagenham and he turned into a bit of a **** building up to it,he undoubtedly gave us some great times,a few seasons after the worst season in the Clubs history ! so was it really that bad under him

NO !

NO !

It wasn't all bad I agree but if you're asking me for my abiding memory it was Dagenham followed by the rant "closing ranks".
I knew AS before he was manager and liked the man and was more than happy when he got the job after Butcher. I was well pleased when he turned us around and even happier when he deservedly led us to promotion.
However the job changed him as a person and the style of football played once promoted was by and large unappealing like his character change.
So sorry but my memory of AS isn't linked to promotion.

For the record my abiding memory of the managers who've won promotion in my time are:

Blunstone - John O'Mara and big home wins
Dodgin - Quality football and promotion
Noddy - Promotion and Murray Jones
Noades- ripping off my club
Andy Scott - Dagenham, the rant and Everton

He's tweeted saying he's off and thanking Dundee fans.

No news of where to but we may want to keep an eye on this one in case he replies to one of the many people asking.

News tomorrow morninG maybe?

a Brentford full time staff has told a GPG'er that we have already signed him already..:thetruth:

Im just hoping with this big announcement we make a statement of real intent and announce a new signing or two with it!!!!

So is he signing or not - this has been going on for too long now - shake your source down and get them to cough up the real story.
If your source works for a local hotel then we are just fishing for scraps
If you source works for the club then we should have some definate news already

can you give us initials or some clue so we can spend the week guessing ?
I am way behind in the TITS comp now, so need more stimulae

If we are still on the topic of Robertson all the info is incorrect he is available on free so no fees involved

Scott Robertson

He is out of contract and aged 24+ he is a free transfer.

Scott Robertson

He would be free of charge even if he was under 24 years old as he would be moving from one country to another.

The fee only applies to players moving one from club to another within the same country....

Unless that rule changed in the last year or 2...

Scott Robertson

over a five or ten year period 'free' transfers (or in reality, end of contract situations) probably even themselves out.

we lose a few who are worth a fee (eg osborne, tabb etc) and sign a few on a 'free' who are also worth a few quid, and maybe robertson will be one?

Scott Robertson

We £100k for Tabb.

Scott Robertson

Good things come to those who wait.

Cant reveal my source because if i do that he or she could be sacked from their job and then i will no longer have a source.

Do you at least know when it's due to be announced?

What was the point of posting anything?
Comes across as I know something you don't, if you've agreed to keep private you should do just that!

Scott Robertson

what does this mean ?

Also what does it have to do with this thread ?

Tabb was available on a free contract, being out of contract and all that at the time.
However we got £100k for him as he was still young (under 24)

If Scott Robertson was under 24, then despite being free, we may have to part with compensation money to the club that reared him.
I do not know if he is under 24

:moo:

update - He's 27....so if out of contract there would be no fee :dog:
