He's had good fortune in his career so far, here's hoping Robertson will be particularly jammy for the Bees

Similar to Donaldson. He had interest from a couple of clubs in the Championship but chose us :)

It was the way it read as if like for like he would chose us. I would be delighted if he signed but won't kid myself that we held off a host of Championship clubs

Do we need him?? We've already got Douglas, Forshaw, Dave, Reeves & Oyeleke (potentially).. Wouldn't our budget be better spent on a CB, LB, and another forward??

I definately would like to see another midfielder. We're probably looking at using three in midfield on many occasions and excluding Reeves and Oyeleke at this stage, that only leaves the three you have mentioned. I reckon Kevin O'Connor could spend a fair bit of his playing time providing an alternative option to Logan at right-back.

Assuming that Woodman goes/Bidwell or someone else comes in (probably on loan), it's the centre-back position that concerns me most. I really don't think Dean and Legge complement each other that well and I hope that the next arrival is a central defender.

The rest (hopefully) - midfielder and another striker - can follow in due course.

We do not have a leader and box to box runner and tackler and I think KOC will be seen as a RB more than a MF

Although they both have fantastic potential, I don't think Forshaw is any better than Reeves currently from what I saw last season. With that in mind I hope we're looking for another central midfielder, otherwise we'll lack experience. Hopefully Reeves and Oyeleke can go out on loan, leaving 3 from 5 to play in central midfield when we play the diamond out of Douglas, Diagouraga, O'Connor, Forshaw + New. I think that would also leave us well covered at right-back with Logan, KO'C and Dean (assuming we sign another centre-back).

Miss him yes, but not a leader. He is the first one to disappear when we are up against it - sadly! Really thought he would be a leader, but now think he needs a leader along side him to make him play through the though times

That's a bit harsh, maybe not a leader but he carried a very unsettled, unbalanced midfield last year. When the diamond formation worked towards the end of the year he looked a class act and one of the best midfielders we've had for years but he needs support from a box to box midfielder.

I thought this tread was about Scott Robertson not Jonathan Douglas . So do we know if he is signing or not Robertson that is.

Keith told me he wasn't signing on Monday, over a cold cheese n onion pasty + a king size yorkie at the Texaco.
He's been spot on so far this season, Keith ( 2 out of 2 for me )
