Please ,every one , dont start a new thread about EVERY possible transfer target !! Can this be put with the other transfer thread , mods ?

Scott Robertson

Disagree, Bigbee - I think if there's a genuine rumour, it's good to have a specific thread. Otherwise the info gets lost to anyone who isn't keeping right up to date with the transfer debate thread, which is more about what Bees fans think, than about actual rumours etc.

Jockbee, what's this Roberston guy like?

Scott Robertson

We could always have a 'Linked with Brentford' thread, where only players who have actually been linked with us will get brought up, and evidence would also have to be posted. People's wish list would remain seperate.

What usually happens is that if it is linked from a reputable news source (meaning not the Football Rumours site or someone down the pub) we would put up a quick news story and have its own link. If Jock Bee could let us know where this is from, we could decide then whether it has legs.

"chased by League One side Brentford and a host of Championship clubs"... Sounds like agentspeak.

Scott Robertson

Didnt we spend most of last summer chasing a sweaty! :fishing:

was that to be, the new player of the year in Scotland? anyway we got no chance, Bristol city will snap him up before us...

Takes a good penalty I believe.....

Scottish Daily Express...today...

Scott Robertson

For those old enough to remember, his old man BA used to bang bang them in.

Scott Robertson

Just spoken to a hearts fan about him, and he says he a very good tackler. He then said he is like Ian Black but without the bad tackles (don't know if Ian Black is good or not)

Scott Robertson

Never seen him play but I have FIFA 12 so I thought I'd describe what he's like from that lol. He would be equal with Douglas as our best midfielder according to the FIFA ratings (64). Seems to be very quick and agile whilst also having a lot of stamina. Does have the Injury Prone trait but seems to be a good player. Obviously this is only FIFA so I wouldn't read into everything but they usually get most ratings near spot on. They have him down as 6ft mind you and on Wiki he is 5 ft 8, so I'm not sure, but there's a general overview for now anyways.

Scott Robertson

Sounds like a decent replacement/improvement on Bean.

Scott Robertson

Chris I know for a fact that Uwe and MW check Fifa 12 before pursuing any new signing.

I'm told that they play a full season first and if it works out ok, we get the go ahead to sign the player. :thetruth:

Scott Robertson

According to a Dundee Utd-supporting colleague he is a strong runner and scores a few as well.

Scott Robertson

He certainly fits Uwe's job description of an experienced midfielder who is prepared to tackle.

Derek McInnes said only a few days ago that he wants to change the playing staff at Brizzle City, so if he decides he wants Robertson then it's hard to see why Robertson would choose us over a Championship side.

Dundee born and bred, Scott came through the youth ranks at Dens Park and made his first team debut in 2004, playing in several SPL games before Dundee were relegated to the First Division. He also had a spell out on loan at Peterhead during that season, playing 26 times for the Third Division side.

Over the next three seasons he cemented his place in the Dundee first team, playing in over 100 games, scoring nine times. By 2007-08 Scott had become club captain as Dundee came close to winning promotion back to the SPL, narrowly losing out to Hamilton at the end of the season.

United Manager Craig Levein had been on the trail of Scott since first noticing him playing in the Dundee youth team against Hearts, and tried to sign him twice during his spells as manager of Hearts and Leicester City. He eventually got his man at the end of the 2007-08 season, as Scott agreed a three year deal with United under freedom of contract.

After making his debut in the opening game of the season against Hamilton, Scott went on to become a vital part of United’s midfield, and played in every minute of United’s first 24 games of the season. His first goal for the Club came in a 2-0 win over Airdrie United in the League Cup, followed by goals against Hearts, Dunfermline and Rangers before scoring the winner over Falkirk at the end of the year.

During that time Scott won his first international cap for Scotland in a friendly against Argentina at Hampden, coming on from the substitutes bench to play the last half an hour of the 1-0 defeat. Unfortunately in January, Scott’s fantastic first season with United came grinding to a halt when he required surgery for a hernia problem that more or less ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

After missing only one game in the opening 9 matches of the 2009-2010 season due to suspension, further injury problems kept Scott out of the team until December, and after just 3 more appearances, the pelvic problem that had kept him out of action the previous season again ruled him out for the rest of the campaign. However, Scott returned to first team action at the end of April, and after 4 matches won himself a place in United’s Scottish Cup Final squad, coming off the bench for the final 15 minutes as United went on to win 3-0 and lift the trophy.

Now with his injury problems behind him, Scott missed only four of the clubs 47 matches during the 2010-11 season, sharing the centre midfield with Morgaro Gomis and Prince Buaben for most of the campaign, as the team battled their way to finish in fourth place in the SPL and claim a European spot for the second year in succession.

I would as well, I have a few players that I think we could sign just by looking at Fifa 12 and then further looking into it via youtube and football stat websites. Analysing players via a video game sounds extremely stupid but it actually isn't these days with how spot on the ratings are. I've been told Soslkjaer (sp) does it in Norway and it's catching on all over the world.

Kernaghan could be the clincher.

Promotion challenge over relegation dog fight

Sounds like an 80s Neighbours character?

Scott Robertson

Just because McInnes is a Jock it doesn't mean they will all end up at Ashton gate.....

I can see where you're coming from in terms of getting a rough idea before looking into them further.

However Bean for example is a star man in the championship on my game and a Beavon only gets 10 a season if that in league 2 so can't rely on it.

Championship wages over what we can offer. A chance to play/be seen at a higher level.
I doubt McInnes will be selling Brizzle City to Robertson as a relegation facing side, but rather as a crack Championship side on the up.
Anyway, it's the first two considerations that will determine where he ends up.

....f*** me! Torres has scored a goal, and one that counts too!

You're right.
It sounds stupid :sorted:

my Dundee mate rates him but says he is a "traitor arab bastard" & also "a dirty tangerine f***er", which sounds quite a party trick!

Welcome to the club Scottch.
