Should Scott Go?

if you go back 10-15 years I remember if a player brought down a high ball with one touch and killed it dead they got a round of applause. We used to lord about foreigners doing it and used to say english players had a poor first touch so less time on the ball.

Nowadays you expect most non league players to kill a 50 yard hoof stone dead with one touch, in fact most of my old sunday team can still do it.

Leon did it very successfully against the Donkeys

Should Scott Go?

So why can't the England team do it?

Off topic, but our national team can all do it - the question is why they don't when playing for the national side. The telling thing, for me, is the fear they display - watch the willingness of players for (for example) Spain & Germany to maintain the ball when under pressure. Our players (with a few exceptions) always seem to panic and want to get rid.

A lot of our players are also frighteningly one-footed. Even Ashley Cole, who does have a good right foot, looks very unwilling to use it, unless he makes a conscious decision.

Same old same old.

Anyway. SCOTT OUT! :fishing:

No win again today. :(

Has he f***ed off yet?

Should Scott Go?

i dont see this proving any points without more evidence of comparison with other clubs as there are so many that have spent more on agents than blackpool ? what blackpool have achieved and how theyve achieved, and still achieving,it is amazing

Agents OUT.

:nono: Clean sheet. That's the main thing. Their forwards didn't trouble Bond all afternoon :sorted:.
Yeah, but we really didn't turn up for it today - not a single shot on, or off target!

I particularly liked the way John O'Mara ghosted into the Ealing Road penalty area and no-one saw him.

Should Scott Go?

The only place Scott should be going to is Iceland to pick up his Christmas Hamper.....donated by GPG back stabbers and those that doubt him:D

See Chris Hughton fired by the Toon - what a disgraceful decision. He's been their best manager since Sir Bobby and has been treated in a similarly shabby way.

I hope it brings it home to all the anti-AS brigade what rot they are talking. AS is a League 1 equivalent of Hughton, an inexperienced manager who has worked wonders and got the best set of results, plus a championship winners medal, for a good few years. Sacking him is obviously part of the massively unfair and unrealistic "we should be doing much better" attitude that has undermined good men trying to do good work at Newcastle for so long. Bees fans take note.

The issue was never we should be doing much better it was the awful football that was on offer and a seeming inability to do anything else, As one of the anti-AS brigade I have said that in the last couple of games the style has changed and the football has been better therefore my objections are now out of date. That goes for the majority of the dissenters.

Hopefully when we next play again this progress will continue and therefore there will be no problem with Scott, however if when Myles returns we revert back to the style evident against say MK Dons then there will be criticism on here and we once again will go round in circles.

Should Scott Go?

very quiet thread lately. scott IN

It is quiet and should be closed. If we lose lose another game though im sure someone will start it all off again. The fact is maybe he is or isnt the right man for the job but an excellent carling cup, an excellent jpt cup so far, being 2 points off playoffs and 5 points of 2nd place certainly deserves a good chance. The fact is if we finish 10th this season people will moan but it could be worse look at clubs like plymouth and southampton. Southampton probably have double our wage bill at least and more than double to spend and look how they are doing!!!! Whatever our budgets are fact is AS is doing a good job and we have plenty left to play for. How many league 1 teams can boast beating Hull, everton, very nearly brum, southampton, charlton, sheff weds, plymouth, peterborough and colchester amongst a few other lower key opponents. If someone said in August in Dec you can be 2 points off playoffs, 5 points of 2nd place, 3 games away from wembley and had an excellent cup run i would have taken it every time and im sure alot of other people would have to.

Yes, because things are now, finally, starting to look up, and we are now playing a much better standard of football and getting results with it. Of course, though, all our fears earlier in the season were all unfounded, and AS hasn't changed a thing since the desperate performances against Bournemouth, MK Dons, Aldershot etc.

Should Scott Go?

Thread should be closed and lets keep positive along with the team and management as it seems they are responding well to what they know were bad games and what the fans were thinking.

COYR

Should Scott Go?

This thread needs to be closed. AS was always the man to turn things around, no amount of moaning on here or booing the team did us any good regardless of a few people's opinions. I always thought that the sporadic good performances even when we were doing crap showed the potential we had. We have won 6 of the last 8, 2 points off play offs, 5 off automatic. I would (and every other bees fan) would have accepted our league position after oldham or MK. This debate is over, I hope AS is with us for many more years to come, with much more succes.

Should Scott Go?

Keep it open!!!

This thread gives some 'fuel' for the directors of the club when they have their board meetings. Under 'any other business'. They all chuckle and shed a tear. Then they get AS in to read them out loud.

This cannot be closed because we'll only start another ;)

Vacancy at Sheff Utd too...........

Should Scott Go?

The sheff utd vacany worries me as he has played there before and i would probably bet he is on there radar!!!

Should Scott Go?

to big of a job for him! he has only just started to get the hang of this league. needs more time and needs to be a succesful period with a simething at the finish line

anjy ways they might go down and be playing us next season!!!

I can't see Sheff U taking a risk on an unproven manager again. I think they'll go for a big name in an effort to restore their pride and win the fans around .

Surely if they go down it means they'll miss us next season?

Given how Fulham are doing I'm looking forward to us playing them in the league next year.

will need an annuall pass on the underground next season lol what with QPR starting to slip up to lol

Would anyone want to go to West Ham and win?:D
I enjoyed my day out there but realised that allowing them to thrash us meant for a good day.

How long until he becomes a proven manager ?

Should Scott Go?

For them, I'd imagine when he's managed at Championship level.
A season and a half in the league below at mid table isn't going to be enough for a club as big as Sheff Utd.

Sheff Utd's recent managers

Kevin Blackwell - previously at high flying Luton
Brian Robson - consistently relegated from the premiership
Neil Warnock - fair enough, a successful Championship manager, but not before he joined Sheff Utd
Adrian Heath - ??

Smiffy,

I'm saying here and now that the fans want a proven manager and are sick of promising ex players who have failed. I think the board will look to get in someone with a pedigree and proven track record. Sheff Weds havd just cleared their debts and are looking forward with optimism. I may be way off the mark, not in the know purely my opinion.

If he gets us into the Championship, I will suck his toes for him.

Keep this thread open. There's nothing to fear from it.

If Andy can get this team to reproduce at home their form on the road, then I will happily take back what I have said about him as a manager. I am only too happy to be proved wrong........when that happens.

Their debts may have been cleared (we'll see tomorrow) but they will be replaced by one big debt to Milan Mandaric. He's not stupid!

We need to keep this thread open... if only so we know where they all are. :suspect:
